If you intend to travel with your PSLE graduate kid, the best time to do so is now. Don't wait till November/December. Things will be less crowded for you and your family and you can come back refreshed and in time to handle all the admin things you have to do after PSLE results.

Yes, that is why we travelled almost immediately after last paper and another trip in early Nov...knowing to block out end Nov and end Dec....LOL

DD sat for PSLE last year. Come result day, she said she didn't need us to be in school.

We decided to play it cool and treat it like any other normal day, pretending that PSLE result is no big deal.

On hindsight, that was stupid. 😆

We should have insisted on going to the school with her, so that we could be there to share her joy,
or to offer our shoulders for her to cry on *touch wood*.

As it turned out, only one other classmate did not have any parents present that day.
So the two of them hung out with each other throughout the day.

But school is still going on for P6. We got only 4 days off this week for the PSLE marking days. How to take a longer vacation now?
From about 19th Nov (after school ends) till about 19th Dec (just before the results are out) would be the time for a longer holiday.

You don't hv to wait till school holidays. We travelled from 12 to 19 Oct and another one from 4 to 12 Nov. Just inform FT will do since there is no more teachings now.

Yep, it will be really encouraging for parent to be present to support whatever the results were

I was very willingly the camera woman that day, helping ds and his classmates, sch frens , teachers to take lots of group
photos, class photos - it was really a memorable day -the kids were happy and sad at the same time as most gotto part separate ways. They exchg numbers ( most kids got a hp number when they collect result , preparing sec 1 🙂 , plan last class gathering and set dates to meet on lines to play games.... this is the minimal childhood they can have in this system

back in 2012 when son’s results were released in the classroom, i could hear my heart pounding while hubby and I waited downstairs. it was an agony waiting.

our kids do not get to enjoy a childhood. after getting their results, they will go separate ways…friendships built over the years will be lost as they hardly have time to meet up when they go to secondary school.

[quote=\"SuperDadandMum\"]there are some every detailed facebook explanations on the English Paper 2 yesterday in this youtube link. Heard from the Branch that my DD is enrolled that there will be more progressively over the week for all subjects.

The answer to the S/T question \"The way Ginny...\" is incorrect.
It should be - The way Ginny dealt with ... (NOT \"was dealing with...\")

I am so scare.....when my turns come.....I will freak out. Any result will also make me cry.....I am the kind that cry so easily 😢 😆

I am undecided to go cos I think whichever way the results turn out, I'll cry anyway...I did tell my DS that probably I'll
wait for him at the hawker center beside the school...
For me it is like a proper closure to a prolonged period of tensed emotions and hardcore revision and I'm proud that
my DS grit his teeth to go through the tough period, so cannot help but will feel emo.

I will probably burst out in tears due to the bottled up pressure...like you mentioned the tensed emotions over these past 2 years. But I don't think I can wait anywhere but at her school canteen.
Yes, you are right...A proper closure to 6 years of primary education.
