Can I know if the result slip will indicate if you are eligible for Higher Chinese in Secondary school?

No, result slip show only yr HCL grade (if you took PSLE HCL).

So long as you pass your CL, you are eligible for HCL in Sec School (if the school offers this subject).

Wouldn't the child need to be at least in the top 30% as what I've read from MOE website :

\"Pupils who offer Mother Tongue Language (MTL) (i.e. Chinese/ Malay/ Tamil) or Higher Mother Tongue Language (HTML) (i.e. Higher Chinese/ Higher Malay/ Higher Tamil) at the PSLE and
are ranked among the top 10% of the PSLE; OR
are in the top 11% - 30% band who meet the language criteria (i.e., an A* grade in the MTL or at least a Merit in the HMTL)

may opt to study HMTL at secondary schools. They may offer English Language and HMTL in the GCE ‘O’ Level Examination at the end of Secondary Four.\"

                  bridesep:

Thanks..so after listening to the P's talk, I suppose pupils will go to class to receive results? Sigh... imagine seeing friends jumping with joy while some will be teary... quite a traumatic experience.
when son collected his results in the classroom, parents had to stay in the canteen to wait. it was an agonizing one.
it is definitely a traumatic experience for the students when they are given their results.
i do wish i can be with my daughter when she collects it, so that she won't feel alone at that moment.
even though i am one nervous wreck and not the kind who can hide well, i don't want her to be alone.

I was thinking of my gf's DS who didn't take HCL in PSLE but is required to take HCL in Sec School - he is studying in IP school.

Reading these result-release related issues is giving me the jitters :nailbite:

                      One month more to go.

After that, the flurry of choosing schools based on DD's results, the dilemmas, the submitting of the options, so on...

So not looking forward... to the changes, the uncertainties.
i avoided this thread when there were so many discussions on the papers after each day. now it has become a thread related to results :nailbite: we still have to face this day and then followed by S1 posting before we can finally say it's the end of primary school.

i can definitely understand your feelings. my stress level has acted up and that means my scalp is starting to have some bald patches :stupid: i heard the math paper was tough and some girls cried after it.

Maybe can set yourself a realistic expectations (perhaps a range) first so that when you receive results, your emotions are more in check? I know it’s nerve-wrecking especially the waiting moments but with something being expected realistically, emotions are better controlled?

My DD is more paranoid than you, she starts telling me that she thinks she will fail…I just rolled my eyes at her…
