      Hi,

I would like to know about it too. I’m more interested in their class for both paper I & 2 instead of writing composition every week. I would appreciate it if anyone could share your experience.

      Thanks very much!

        Hello Beemum,

I have managed to find out on its coverage.

        - The term class will focus on Essay Writing and Comprehension techniques
        - There is word quiz every week to improve on spelling and building up vocab.

Was informed there is essay writing every week. Students will learn the writing techniques and there is 30mins uninterrupted time to do the essay. Required to do draft 2.

BUT the staff did not answered my question as in are there weekly open ended comprehension?

              Hi,

Does TWC teach paper 2 especially Comprehension, S&T etc? Or just simply creative writing only?

              Dear parents,

Thank you so much for your interest!

Our Writing Enrichment programme adheres to the PSLE examination format for Composition. Your children will learn the language skills, strategies and techniques that will power their higher-order thinking and pursuits in life.

              Dear Beemum,

Yes, there is a weekly open-ended journal for your child. Allow me to explain Draft 1, Draft 2 and Journal Writing in details:
              ----------------------------
              Draft 1:
Students have to write Draft 1 within 30 minutes in class. This allows us to observe how students tackle a writing task and bridge their learning needs accordingly. Meticulously marked work will be returned the following week so that they can produce Draft 2 by constructively taking in their teacher’s comments.

              Draft 2:
Draft 2 allows students to reflect on the teacher’s comments and their own writing process, so this is the most important piece of homework for them to complete.

              Journal Writing:
This is to encourage our students to form their own views and opinions. Frequent writing can also develop the writer’s voice. Teachers will not correct this piece of work but respond to the ideas therein.
              ----------------------------

              Does this answer your question?

                  Hi parents,

Anyone has feedback about their English tuition class (not writing class)?

I still consider it because it is new class at Bukit Timah centre.

                  Thanks

Was about to sign up for next year’s class but realised that TWC doesn’t give out model compositions for students to refer to. Should this be a cause for concern?

Anyone can advise on whether model compositions should or shouldn’t be given to students in the learning of composition writing?
