      Hi Sursum

That means if no third lang, can go back early. Still contemplating whether to let dd do third lang since drop out rate is high. She wants to do but could be due to peer influence.

Would you have any idea when is the latest that we need to arrive at school to avoid being caught in the jam. Thanks.
My dd took French and dropped out after the first year.

As to whether you will be caught in a jam, I think it depends on which route you are taking. We use the Orchard rd - Claymore rd - Draycott park route. Usually reach the school by 7.10am and traffic is quite smooth. We let dd alight along Draycott Park (there is a side gate). If it rains, she will alight at the bus stop along Stevens Rd (another side gate there).

However I always see a lot of cars along Stevens rd (the opp side) waiting to turn into Anderson rd. That queue can get quite long.

The tutorChen, please double confirm... not sure anyone can check it out! If she claims to be scholar, would expect First Class honor. if not minimum MUST be 2nd upper. Why would she pursue EEE??? My take, in internet world, always be careful. Think 2 years ago, recall there was a man who claimed to be top teacher from RI as tutoring Math or physics.. in the end was NOT! :rahrah:

Hi, I am Ms Chen. My tutees from my RGS/RI class told me there is a discussion about me in this thread.

Yes, I am a former RGS teacher and I left the school at the end of Year 2013 . Those teachers who joined RGS by Year 2013 should know me.
For more information, you can access my portfolio here: http://www.tutorchen.com/tutorchen-background/
I am now working as a founding tutor in a tuition centre.

          Thank you ๐Ÿ™‚

May I know if itโ€™s compulsory to get the apron (for home econs) from school bookshop? Thanks

Thanks! My daughter's booklist has this item: blue apron+2 pcs of cloth for $9.
If it's not compulsory, I don't want to buy because I have many aprons and cloths at home!

Can someone help to explain how RA classes are allocated for Yr 3.

                  - No of classes per subject specialisation (mainly Chem / Physics / Bio / Math )
                  - If one opts for 3 Sci and Geo, will someone with 3 Sci and History be in the same class, given that they are in the same RA?
                  - Once the RA class is allocated, will the Yr 3 be having the same classmates in Yr 4?

                  Thanks !

In reverse order of your questions: the classes stay the same for Yrs 3-4. As for having classmates with slightly different combinations - yes, it may happen. But if the combination is very popular, the whole class might have exactly the same combination. As for the number of RA classes, my impression was that it was just 1 class for each subject except Maths, which was 2, but I'm not sure about this last point.

RA class size for the Sciences are around 20 students per subject (for the current Year 3s). DDโ€™s RA subject classmates are split into 2 classes but they come together for that subject. Her half shares the class with History RA students.
