i took mine from a medium-like agency, as large agency tends to have a lack of service since they have so many ‘clients’ and for small agency they lack of experience. so far my maid turn out reasonably well but went through a once or twice counselling with the agency which follows up pretty well. afterall i believe every agency have their good and bad.

Agreed. Nowadays successful agencies do not hand pick the helpers personally.. and they tend to recommends transfer maid instead of new maids.

I got my indo helper from one of the agency in far east shopping center. Specifically told them to find a one that loves kids and willing to work hard, I managed to pick one with the staff recommendation. Had a few problems with my helper initially, but this agency managed to solved the problem.i must say i'm quite impressed with their after sales service. It has been 3 months, and my helper did a great job taking good care of my kids and house.

Finding a good helper is very difficult nowadays, guess im lucky! 😄

Hi Awonder I sympathize with you but thru my experience choosing a maid is just as stressful as looking for our dream house. I understand the maid has to stay with our kids because we have to go to work. try to find more girls and trust your instinct keep on calling maid agencies and interview more girls. Just want to share my experience with you, it took 3 months for me to find my helper. and I consider her as very precious to our family.

If you don't want to have a live-in maid, a reasonable alternative is a cleaning company. You can book a helper by the hour, say once a week or so, to get them to clean as needed. It's possible to book a part-time cleaner or maid with companies like Helpling. See here: https://www.helpling.com.sg/maids
