Yup, some secondary schools do go down to the Pri schools and give talks. Others are having Open Houses.

Still remember a while ago, we are doing countdown to the end of PSLE :rahrah:

countdown to PSLE.
countdown to end of PSLE.
countdown to PSLE results.
countdown to S1 posting.
the whole year doing nothing but counting down. we will only get to breathe easier on 21 dec and the mad rush to buy new books, uniforms before enjoying Christmas :faint:

I saw a parent enquiring at popular bookshop without Sec 1 book list, asking which books are typically being used in Sec 1. From her 口音, I'm guessing she's a foreigner. Staff told her to wait for booklist. She insisted staff to point out to her the books to buy immediately. Could tell popular staff liao. She persisted in getting an answer from popular staff.


Not sure what happen subsequently, I didn't stay to watch the whole episode

Just buy one of everything that is sec 1 related. Cannot go too wrong.

Maybe kiasu-ism at play ... she is trying to buy Sec 1 books to prepare her DC. Actually I also think school posting and booklist should really be out earlier, say early or mid-Dec so that things are not so rush during Xmas season. With technology in place and school selection being done online, it shouldn't take 1 month from the release of psle to the School posting results.

bought the shing lee math workbook...son's sec school also used that textbook...but we are still not in the mood to start.

psle scripts were marked last month...have to wait 1 month for results. then another 1 month for posting. really LONG. i do wish MOE can bring forward the posting results so that we can get the books & uniforms at least 1 week before christmas. really sian to spend the last 2 weeks of december on such madness before the new term begins.

hubby reminded me next year sec 1...don't buy too many. 他老人痴呆 :slapshead: ...of course i won't buy. i step into popular because of checking out syllabus for his students.
