Yeah he's quite young. Planning to seek a 3rd opinion at private hospital instead. Govt hospital is really slow....Summation:
Can anyone help? My brother have been diagnosed with a tumor in his pancreas. Half of the doctors say to remove another half say can wait and see if it grows bigger. But if we were to wait got chance to become cancer. So should we remove it?
Go for a third opinion.
Most of the time people will remove as no point taking chance sometimes, esp when a person is still younger and stronger to be able to recover from an open stomach operation much faster. -

There's no need to worry for now. Traces of blood in urine isn't something serious. I think the next step the doctor will redo the urine test a few days in the future to ensure it isn't a false positive. After that if there's really still blood in urine they will refer you to the specialist for a follow up.Just got to know that my grandma's recent medical check up results were not so good. Hospital found traces of blood in her urine and suspected that she could either have kidney stone, infection somewhere or worst case, cancer!
I asked my mum when is her next appointment for additional tests to find out what exactly is the root cause. My mum told me queue until next year March 2017. I was speechless. -

Normally govt hospital have 2 waiting queue. One is normal appointment booking another is A&E appointment booking. If you try to push the appointment forward there's only a certain limit they can do so for you. But if you walk in to A&E they can easily arrange an appointment just 1/2 weeks.Lee_yl
Try to call the appt line to ask for an earlier date to see if it helps -
But don’t do that unless it’s a really major issue. It’s not ethical to crowd the A&E

I will discuss with my dad.

Sometimes when I make too much noise, my uncles and aunties might not like it. -

It is interesting to observe the 'dynamics' (many things involved with people showing different emotions, 'motives', decision making process, etc) of how our parents handle the health issues of their own parents and then 'foretell' to see how our kids will handle ours when we grow old (and how our grand kids will observe how their parents handle their grand parents' health).
I will discuss with my dad.

When my parents were ill in hospital, my siblings would go visit regularly. We didn't just sit around to chat but would massage their feet and hands with massage oil. So all the grand children would see and taking it as a 'norm' that visit the elderly in the hospital will include a 'massage treat' for the patients. (hopefully my siblings and I will get our massage treats from the kids one day!

Good point.

Hi Summation,
All the best for your brother. Is a tough decision to decide whether to proceed with the surgery. Pancreatic cancer is usually fatal. My dad succumbed to it after a 10 months fight without surgery. Our doctor is Dr Donald Poon at Raffles Hospital. You may like to consult him. One of my ex colleague managed to recover after a surgery to remove the tumour though.
