      Tut Tut:
Hi, I'm new to Kiasuparents. I would like to ask how can I apply for PV at Horizon? What are the chances for PV to secure a place under phase 2B (within 1 km)? Do PVs have to go through balloting or interview to be selected? Thanks in advance! 🙂

Oh Horizon definitely has a volunteer scheme for parents who want to get their child into the school. They are called APVs, associate parent volunteers. Correct, it's different from the PVs mentioned on the school website.

I was an APV and I see the current batch of APV, so it's still ongoing. Perhaps you called when the APV registration had been closed for that year.

Do call and check early. Call, don't write in. Registration seems to have gotten earlier and earlier. School probably needs time to do interview and selection cos they only choose 20 APVs each year to prevent balloting later.

APVs have to do weekly duties + participate in a few school events a year. Weekly duties are fixed. Eg you can sign up for recess duty at a fixed slot every week for the whole year, or early morning traffic duty before you go to work.

The weekly duties will already clock the 40 mandatory hours. I ended up clocking more than 80 hours after the events. So my advice is not to mind the hours if you decide to do APV at horizon.

        Hi,

Under horizon primary, what are the good point of this new principle, since the principle had change new. Thanks 😄
The new principal's focus is more on academic grades and less on building character values. Depends on which one is more important to you...

Hi all, any parents with the idea how the P2s are split into their P3 classes in Horizon Pri?

Tried asking the Form Teacher if it is based on results but it seemed that she didn’t want to reveal. Then from P3 go to P4, will they change classes again? I am just curious to know how it all works.

They don't split by exam results, this was what it has been done for the past years. However with the change of principal, I'm not too sure. Nowadays school does not reveal on how they split. P3 & P4 will be the same group of students - no split. But after P4 sure split due to banding.

P2 classes have 30 students, P3 onwards 40 students. That's why they reshuffle the students. Not so much due to results.
