Time flies…wow…personally i prefer schools having open houses after results for the obvious reasons…do remember to check out schools that have open houses this weekend!

I am feeling a tiny bit jittery today. I just want to get this over with.
I recall feeling like this for my 12th grade results, and that was because I knew I hadn't studied as much as I should have. My results were terrible, and, as ChiefK said above, it was a much-needed wake-up call. But of course, at 17, I was mature enough to heed that call. If my dd gets a poor result tomorrow, I am not sure how much of a sanguine response she will have. -

It's not the end of the world even if your kid doesn't do well. In fact, it could be a good wake up call to remind him that his fate is in his own hands, and it is entirely up to him to decide how well he wants to perform. That would be a good outcome if you look beyond the grades.
after experiencing this first major exam, the children would understand that their fate lie in their hands.
for psle, we parents can only do that much to guide them...subsequently they will be facing more exams as they progress and the difficulty level will be higher and one day we may not be able to help them.
it's about 24 hours before they receive their results...after 6 years of hard work, especially the last 2 years...it's the end of primary school tomorrow. a closure before they embark on a new journey. -

I cannot push the scary ‘what ifs’ out of my mind.
DS2 has also been consistent through the years. Very deserving child. No need for wake-up call cos already wide awake. But "What if…?"

for the past few nights, i have not been able to sleep till 3 or 4am...it's only with sleeping pills that i eventually knock out. when i wake up at 9, my head is very heavy. -

Is it a must to have a hand phone in sec sch? Do teachers communate with pupils via messaging such as watsapp chats?
If I remember correctly, we were told at Swiss Cottage Sec School's open house 4 years ago that the school do not allow students to bring hp to school. Not sure if things has changed since then.
In dd's school, yes, handphones are allowed and there is class chat which includes the form teachers.
Communication from school is via email, homework is given out in class but class chat is useful for homework reminders, admin work (eg. report absenteeism ), for class monitors, treasurer, various subject reps to disseminate information to the whole class etc. -

Just want to add that there are some schools which do not have open houses but do welcome visitors after PSLE results are released, so no harm giving the schools a call if u are interested. -
Yes…sec sch students use mobile phones heavily be it personal chat or project group chat or class chat… homework chat… cca chat…teacher chat…endless reasons for phone usage…nowadays schools also request parents or students to download some apps. I know some children have no choice but to get a mobile phone once they go to sec 1. Depends on schools rules on when n where can use the phone.
Parents may want to plan a time schedule for phone usage to manage expectation on both sides…haha.
