My child did PSLE a few years ago. We did accompanied her to the secondary school on the reporting day. So there are welcoming speech, intro to the school staff etc. And for those who want to take up Higher Mother tongue in secondary school were asked to sign up - of course subject to approval by school. (If your child passed HMT in O Levels it will mean he or she do not have to take the language in JC)

We also bought the uniforms and the textbooks etc as we were given the book list. For those who wants to appeal to MOE their First Choice of school also have to report to the allocated school first.

Yes…sec sch students use mobile phones heavily be it personal chat or project group chat or class chat… homework chat… cca chat…teacher chat…endless reasons for phone usage…nowadays schools also request parents or students to download some apps. I know some children have no choice but to get a mobile phone once they go to sec 1. Depends on schools rules on when n where can use the phone.


Parents may want to plan a time schedule for phone usage to manage expectation on both sides…haha.

Time flies…wow…personally i prefer schools having open houses after results for the obvious reasons…do remember to check out schools that have open houses this weekend!

Yes...schools will know the results...they may present slides on the post analysis of the how well the school perform and also congratulate those who did exceptionally well.

Last night ch 8 evening news shown a segment on mooncake making. There was a DIY on pokemon mooncake. But somehow it juz looks like a regular pastry to me …not really mooncake leh…LOL…

Yes…many showflats do not have the walls (facing the door) in bedrooms plus glass panels in kitchen… the agent said that u can watch tv while cooking…lol… but if u do alot of cooking u might have a hard time cleaning the glass panels ya?

Lol… probably too much influence fr watching romantic dramas…feel that parents should restrict kids fr such romantic dramas …kids will tink that so nice to be in a relationship…haha…but now living in the internet age…hard to monitor.

Yes..juz like last year..affecting the P6 prelims n psle.

Juz sharing based on experience: try do up a personal timetable for revision to be focus n more realistic of what u can achieve in your revision work for each subject. Plus impt to include some time in the timetable for relaxation like games or sports or juz non exam stuff to relax your brain. This planning skill is also applicable when u are in secondary school coz by then u have more subjects and ccas and other activities.

Even though psle is just next month itz still not too late to come up with a timetable.

Saw last nite ch8 programme about the psle tscore changes… one expert suggested that parents should find out what challenges the child is facing in his studie in order to help him …so tuition may not be the solution.
