Kiddy Angel:
Thank you ! So looks like this year's COP for the schools should be quite close to those in 2015. COP for EESIS was also 262 for 2015 PSLE cohort.bridesep:
Does anyone know what is the COP for EESIS this year?
262 for this year -

Hi, my first post here as I cannot find the information anywhere... anyone knows if any kids get to choose Japanese as third language with T-score of 251 or below?
It will be indicated in the S1 option form if you are eligible. I think for the Cat 3 3rd Language, only the top 10% is eligible, so it depends on where the top 10% COP is for that year. May differs from year to year.
Thank you. Do we have info about last years' 10% COP?
Anyone know how is the top 10% cutoff for this year and last year?
Last year COP for top 10% was 252 (252 was offered Cat 3 3rd Language, 251 was not offered).
This year COP for top 10%, someone mentioned earlier in the forum that 252 was offered Cat 3 3rd Language.
Looks like it's the same for this year and last year. -

Thanks a lot!quizo99:
tscore of 240, which school to go in the west? TIA
Hi!
Try Swiss Cottage or Fairfield (Not sure of your distance)
Commonwealth
Kranji (think twice.. School undergoing major renovations next year. Will be at holding school in Teck Whye.)
Clementi Town
Fuhua
Hope this helps..
I am thinking Swiss need to take train n bus, else long walk.
Commonwealth oso need take train n bus
Clementi town direct train
I stay at boonlay, is clementi town better than fuhua? I also dunno what is \"better\" shd I look at academic results or ?? even open house only allows a glimpse.. -

Hmm..from boon lay, of course, Fuhua is nearer but has to take a walk from the mrt along the canal. Clementi town couple of stops away also with a short walk..so not much of a different. You may want to check whether there is any direct bus from your place to Fuhua..so for distance-wise, Fuhua has a slight edge.
The cop of both schools and the O lvl results also roughly the same for both schools.
Why not check up the CCAs, whether there are CCAs that you prefer over or the other?
For Swiss, there is this bus 187 direct from Boon Lay bus interchange to Swiss..
Hope this helps!

Not sure if you are aware that there is a straight bus (no. 30) that goes from Boon Lay station to Commonwealth Sec Sch. Based on your selection I would recommend Commonwealth not just because the COP is the best match to your child's results, I've also heard good things about the school such as their innovation in creating their own eco garden at their school. Plus it's an autonomous school, i.e. greater autonomy in making their own decisions.
Thanks a lot!

I don't know much yet about Fuhua but they're having an open house tomorrow (8.30am-2pm) if you are interested.
Clementi Town also seems to be a decent school (I went for their open house), they won a couple of awards before for distinction and innovation. And it's just a few minutes walk away from the MRT station.
Parents can help in filtering the selections based on COP, distance/commute, curriculum etc but I think ultimately it's a good idea for the kids to visit the open house to experience the \"look and feel\" to assess how comfortable they are in the school and mingling with the students there. That's how my DD finalized her first choice school prior to PSLE..
