            Hi

depends on what you Want, which direction you are heading towards.

If your dd wants \"A level IP\" :
then come to Cedar, because she will be affiliated to Victoria JC, for \"A\" level.

            Last year (2015)
            COP IP Cedar was 254,
COP O level Cedar was 250.

But if your daughter wants \"O\" level :
then Perhaps go MGS better, because \"O\" level MGS students are affiliated to Anglo -Chinese Junior college (ACJC), u may refer

            https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Methodist_Girls%27_School,_Singapore

            Last year (2015)
            COP IB MGS 261
            COP O level MGS 253

            Refer
            http://www.post1.net/biow/entry/2015_psle_cutoff_points_to_2016_secondary_1

In contrast, the \"O\" level girls in Cedar here are not affiliated to Victoria JC, for \"A\" level.
            So, if u want \"safety\" :
go MGS is safer, due to ACJC affliation, for MGS \"O\" level students.

However, during Victoria Junior college Open house day, u may clarify with VP (VJC), there -
\"In recent years, after Cedar \"O\" level candidates had sat for their O level major exam, roughly, what is the %tage of Cedar candidates, qualify to goto VJC (A level) ? \"
VJC have this statistics figures on hand, they should be able to let u know.
Use the word \"qualify\", because some of these Top \"O\" candidates from Cedar, may not end up in VJC eventually, but choose to goto Raffles Institution, or to Hwa Chong Junior College.

But, if your daughter prefer \"IB\", non \"A\" level, only MGS offer \"IB\". No \"IB\" in Cedar.
            \"IB\" students at MGS -
are affiliated to ACSI, not to ACJC.
But COP IB MGS was very high last year, at 261.

            If you ask :
what's the difference, between MGS \"O\" level vs Cedar \"O\" level students ?

Well, MGS Secondary take in affiliated primary MGS girls for \"O\" level, at affiliated T-score 220, any remaining vacancies left are then given to non-affiliates, entering at high T-score.

In contrast, girls from Cedar Girls Primary are not affiliated to Cedar Secondary. They enter at high 250 \"O\" Level last year (2015).

            How much, difference ?
            250 (Cedar O) - 220 (MGS O)
            = 30 points T-score, difference !

Is 30 points difference, huge or small ? What's your opinion ?

One may conclude that the quality of \"O\" level candidates intake at PSLE, is better at Cedar, than in MGS.
So, does this then translate to a much better actual GCE \"O\" level performance results 4 years later down the road for Cedar, compared to MGS?

Well, one can compare actual \"O\" level results performance from Cedar vs MGS, in past few recent years, to answer this question.

Thank you so much. Very informative. Will review the links.i wasn’t aware of this JC affiliation.

If we join cedar IP,you mean to say we can’t switch to RI in between?
How about NJC ? Is it worth considering too…always had wanted to go for girls school. Now all these last minute confusions.

Cedar is a very good school and has been performing well in national exams. If you join IP, you will go to VJC and VJC is unofficially one of the top 5 JCs.

May I know why do you want to switch to RI in between?

NJC is also another good school but it's co-ed. In terms of academic performance, NJC is a close fight with VJC.

                  Hi

Thanks for sharing. Understand NJC is boarding school as well. So won’t be putting that. Reg RI, I just want to know if ok IP are we bound to complete the 6 years with same cedar VJC… just want to understand the procedure. So I still will go with my original choices cedar.
                  Thanks
