phtthp:
Phtthp, thank you so much for the great advice. I'm in a dilema as I dont think the COP will be going down as the the EESIS and the third language cut-off are the same as last year. I do hope my DD stands a chance for RGS as the COP was 260 last year. Keep my fingers crossed.Kiddy Angel:
My DD s T score is 261+2. Any chance to get into NYGH or RGS?
If this year (2016) NYGH COP is 265 -
Then, 261 + 2 = 263 :
Low chance, as your daughter T-score do not meet 265, and MOE latest policy does not permit appeal, if do not meet COP.
Unless this year NYGH COP Drop to 263, and your daughter's 263 has very high decimal points, possible. But if her decimal points is low ...
Qn is :
do you think this year NYGH COP likely to fall to 263, or more likely to go up ?
Anyone have statistics of the %tage of NYPS girls, who scored 250 & above, for last year (2015), vs this year 2016 ?
If this year (2016) more NYPS girls scored 250 & above, compared to last year (2015), means more NYPS girls qualify to go back to affiliated NYGH, leading to lesser vacancies left available for non-affiliates to enter, then possible for NYGH COP to move up.
But if the reverse is true, then COP may drop.
RGS :
Your +2 not applicable, as RGS is not a SAP school.
Her chance of entering RGS is still there, if COP this year remain at 261. But if happen to shoot up to 262, cannot.
Anyway, just put down these 2 hot schools, inside your list of 6 choices.
When the MOE computer posting algorithm process, is not based on \"whoever first apply into the school, first served\" policy. Not like that.
It process according to \"whoever has a higher T-score first : then will process this candiate's Requirement first, see which school choices this pupil had requested for\".
Computer first sort the thousands of psle candidates by T-score first, before start to process, one by one :
starting from the Top scholar across the island, from this batch, until the bottom last psle candidate in the cohort, whoever he / she is. -
Attempt impossible,
Then you may still need to discuss in depth with DD.
Coz your sequencing of those schools you selected makes a difference:
You DD die die must go SNGS or die die must go IP.
If die die must go SNGS then you put SNGS IP followed by SNGS O Level, then even if can’t get SNGS IP at least still can enter the O level track going by her t-score, which stands a very good chance.
If die die must go IP, then you put SCGS IP / RVH / maybe Cedar IP etc etc after SNGS IP. And put SNGS O Level as your 6th choice. -
I need an urgent advice. If my DD put her affiliated school as her 2nd choice, will she be given lower priority to those who put the affiliated school as the first choice?
-
If the child get 251, can she still apply for St Nicholas as her first choice?
-
Anyone knows how was Red Swastika School PSLE results this year?

Thanks Chief, SpartanMum and Careermum for your insights and sharing....
I thot I was the only having this problem until I saw posts from nicnac and attempt impossible....
I will definitely discuss the pros and cons with DS, but what I'm afraid is that current moment is \"passionate\" period, so he
will of course, say YES to all cons that we will point out to him. After honeymoon wears off, I'm afraid
he will forget all the conversations that we've had.....
On one hand I do not want to be a wet blanket to him, on the other hand, I really have concerns abt the travelling....
dilemma....
 -

my boy got same aggregate 244 and wish to try SJI... will you take SJI as first choice? What's the chance for SJI non-affiliation at tscore 244?
Thanks. -

For us we just picked the most convenient so that he can get tangible benefits like time to rest and less competitive mindsets from the kiasuparents kids. Thanks Chief, SpartanMum and Careermum for your insights and sharing....

Do you think the school makes a difference to your child's intelligence at all? or are we choosing to believe in that to convince ourselves we did something ? Our opinion is that a person's ability is restricted by his genetic make up and that is it. -

If she puts it as 2nd choice, she will no longer have the affiliation advantage so she will have to meet the COP of those from non-affiliated schools. -
Hi, I have not been able to access the S1 posting website last night and today. I get the temporarily unavailable message. I am overseas now. May I know if it is working for local users?
