My son received a 255 and is NOT ELIGIBLE for SAP. We live in Bishan. What schools should he consider?

Hi all,
Wld like some advise if my choices are sort of "safe" to avoid posting by MOE to any nearby schools:
Tscore: 244
2015 cut off for my 6 choices are:
1. 247 (past years range 245)
2. 246 (past years range 242 - 245)
3. 241 (past years range: 237-239)
4. 239 ( past years range: 237 - 238)
5. 237 (past years range: 234 - 236)
6. 237 (past years range: 234 - 236)
Thanks -

Hi,We live in Tiong Bahru and my girl goes to TKGS...we chose it as it is a girls school and it is strong in language arts as well as offers many triple science classes in Sec 3.
We figured that it's better to travel to a better school then just sending around our area(which have not many good schools). Do note that they move to a holding site next year which is at Bedok. However, from TB it is a direct MRT line all the way to Bedok. My girl enjoyed her first year at TKGS very much...!!! School culture and spirit is strong!!!
My son has a schoolmate who stays in Jurong West and he goes to VS and later VJ. There is another who stays at Telok Blangah and goes VS-VJC. Another from Woodlands to VS-VJC. Except for the first mentioned, the other two are in the O level track, 2- and 4-pointers (aft bonus deduction). Yes, they love the Victorian Spirit! -

If IP can consider:
NJC (258)
ACS (256)
VS (254)
SJI (253)
TJC (253)
If O Level can consider:
ACS (250)
VS (248)
Anderson (247)
SJI (246)
By distance nearest would definitely be SJI whether it would be at the holding site in Bishan or the permanent location at Malcolm Road. -

Should be ok, 3rd-6th choices are pretty safe already if could not get into the top 2. Otherwise can still try and appeal if meet the COP and miss by the decimal places.Hi all,

He took Malay/Hindi/Tamil?
You can consider SJI (IB or O level) but it might be relocating to Malcolm in end Jan 2017.
There should be direct buses from Bishan to Malcolm.
Actually, why not consider NJC or ACS? There should be direct buses from Bishan thru Lornie Road to Bt Timah, right? It's actually very near you know. Many Bt Timah students commute via this route to RI/CHS every day.
Explore MRT too. -

I live in Bishan too, and my daughter goes to NYGH, which is right next to NJC.Actually, why not consider NJC or ACS? There should be direct buses from Bishan thru Lornie Road to Bt Timah, right? It's actually very near you know. Many Bt Timah students commute via this route to RI/CHS every day.

There is bus service 74 that goes to NJC but you will need to get on/off along Marymount Road.
Alternate route is to take the Circle line to Botanic Garden and switch to a bus for 5 stops.
Can also switch to Downtown Line 2 from Botanic Garden and alight at Tan Kah Kee or
6th Avenue station. Need to do a bit of walking though since NJC is right between the 2 stations.
