If A cannot make his first choice school, and if school X is \"full\" after processing all 1st choices with a COP of 239, does it mean A will not be able to make it to school X even as the 2nd choice? Or will A pip C because of his higher 240?

Assume:
A's t-score is 240.4 and A chose school X as 2nd choice
B's t-score is 240.1 and chose school X as 1st choice
C's t-score is 239.0 and chose school X as 1st choice.

Last year COP of 239 serves as a guideline for next batch intake only. If student A fails to make it to her 1st choice school and school X has one last vacancy, although it's her 2nd choice, student A will get in because she is ranked higher than students B & C in the school selection queue based on t-score ranking.

Just imagine the t-score as your queue number to select a HDB flat. If your ideal unit has been taken by the person in front, you have to settle for another backup unit you have in mind when your turn comes.

For SAP school, HMT score will come into play.
My guess is C will get to select school first as C's t-score for SAP school stands at 239.0 + 3 (242) which is higher than A's t-score for SAP school 240.4 + 1 (241.4).

There are no more +3 or +2. These are the decimals you see that's been included in the sample cases. And even if listed as first choice, you'll have to have the exact same T-score (eg 239.3 vs 239.3) in order to be considered on the same basis.

Z > A > C

If student A had 239.3 and C had 239.2, A still gets the pick before C, even if A had listed the school as the last choice, and C had listed it as the first.

Bear in mind that the undisclosed decimals are just that - undisclosed. They are likely to include the HMT score but also other things which I suspect may include affiliation.

Dear all,

My girl scored 267+3, I suppose she can go to all school she likes. Visited 3 open house in May this year, RGS, Nanyang Girl and RV. Among three, she likes RV the most as she prefer mix school, and she likes the school environment of RV. Forget about top school… RV the plus point to us is within walking distance to our house. Shall I respect her choices and let go top school. I am still considering Nanyang. Anyone can provide more information about Nanyang

Not sure if it’s been shared. What’s the trend of COPs for the past say 5 years? Does it fluctuate more than +/- 5 points?

Is it hearsay only, or official ?

that officially announce that +1 +2 +3 add merely to the decimal points, instead of add to the whole number, so as to clear up confusion ?

This is definitely false. The HMT bonus point is added to the t-score, a t-score of 249+2 will be considered as 251 when applying to a SAP school.
