It varies – widely. I charge $450/mth for individual tuition and $400/mth for group, but I’ve heard of individual tutors out there charging $15-$25 an hour. When I was an undergrad, my rates were $25 an hour, but I’m sure inflation would have changed things over the last 7 years.

I’m a male tutor with 12 years of teaching experience specialising in Upper Secondary English. I’m MOE-trained and an Honours graduate in English Language at NUS. I also have a Masters in Education (Curriculum and Teaching) from NIE.

I am familiar with the MOE syllabus and can adequately prepare my students for all the different sections of the EL paper.

I am offering group tuition (max group size 3) at my place in Hougang area (4 bus stops from the interchange). The timing of these classes are 1pm to 3pm, and 4pm to 6pm on Saturdays and Sundays.

I’m pondering whether to get a English tutor for my son who’ll be in Sec 3 next year.
Pretty OK for his English. Cause his school combined Literature and English together, most time
according to him, his Literature pull up his overall scores.

He probably needs help with answering his Comprehension questons.

Where can he go to or source good guide for Comprehension ?
Appreciate any kind help and directions.
