Hi timtim,yup I will be purchasing a total of 4 sets of PE attire…going tomorrow to exchange one shirt (the button hole is torn!)& maybe purchase another set of uniforms as my DS is very careless with uniforms ( stains & dirt all over his white wear- boys la you know).

I understand the PE lesson is only once a week, so isnt it a waste to get 4 sets of PE attire just for orientation? They will outgrow very fast. At most I will get 1 more set and make do, hopefully the extra set will not be used during the orientation.

Ya i know, my boy too, some more all white..but luckily his pri one is also all-white top, pretty similar to HCI ones. So he has learnt to extra careful over the years.

Maybe buy one size bigger as a backup [ kiasuparent :)]

DS1 is in Sec 2 next year. Just to share our experience, we bought 2 sets of PE attire which was good enough. Even though there is only 1 PE lesson per week, Fridays are dressed down days. On Fridays or dressed down days, students can wear PE Tee, class tee or consortium tee, depending on the class arrangement. Unless your DS is in a sports CCA, else 2 sets should be more than enough

Looking for this year Sec 2 and above parents, whose child is in musical CCA in HCI. Would like to check if it is a norm for the external instructor to approach the students for extra lessons chargeable at relatively high rate. Does anyone know who in HCI look into the governance of CCA and the external coaches? Appreciate advice. thanks.

I'm currently a Sec 2 in HCI this year and i'm from the school band. The band does have external conductors and coaches, but students do not need to pay for such services. The head of the PE and CCA Department, Mr Tok, is the main person looking into the governance of CCA.

Friday is the school's official CCA day, although I think under recent timetables, slots on Wednesday have also been catered for CCA. CCAs know that students taking 3rd lang normally have Thursdays out, and most CCAs don't have training on Thursday, so there should not be many timetable clashes.
