During release of psle results DS's *primary school* highlighted the need to wear school uniform to report to new secondary school. Will just do it, to save all the trouble from second guessing/avoid confusion.

If however there is good reason the child is unable to wear the school uniform (eg outgrown), then I guess home clothes should be fine too. I guess as parents, we wouldn't want our kids to \"stick out\" too much on the first day reporting to school right?

Any parent can advise for the guitar ensemble cca, is it meant for those who already can play the guitar well?

Hi, is anyone here a member of the PSG at SJI?

Any advice to parents of freshie Josephians like me on whether it’s a good idea to join the PSG?

Good question, bluemom ~ I’m interested to know too!

Guess it depends as well on the timetable; i.e. whether the child needs to stay in school for CCA, etc.

I should be giving my boy a weekly allowance of $40, before adjusting it up/downwards if nec. Have discussed with him and he chose a weekly instead of daily allowance, which is good since he would need to learn some \"financial planning 101\", so that he can keep the savings in his piggy bank. For the first few weeks I may start with a little less, since they are not starting CCA yet, so he doesn't need to stay back.

My boy is a big eater and I have no idea how much food costs in the canteen since they are moving back to new premises. πŸ˜†

Not sure if any mummies have responded to you privately, I recall when I joined Guitar Club in my JC as a CCA then, we need not have experience playing the guitar. It helps if you have some music background or can play by ear (so you can pick up faster), but I don't think it is a must.

Nowadays in primary schools the children learn pretty interesting instruments during the PAL/music programme. I recalled my boy did guitar in P5 or P6.

If you are keen on Guitar Ensemble, no harm checking with the school or the Level Head when term starts in Jan. πŸ˜„
