Hi parents, May I ask is it better to buy the digital or print version of textbook? Is there anything that need not buy?

Friend's girl only wears full uniform once a week with cardigan or jacket. The rest of week she wore white polo.
Thanks. Good to know that, so no need to buy so many sets of uniform.

Hi, not sure appropriate to ask here. As you know the uniform is sleeveless, how do your kids take care of the armpit hair? Do the girls shave them or what other methods do you do?

Thanks for the details, sorry for replying late.
My child is P1 this year, so no academic based award ceremony.
I understand that the edusave awards for P1 and P2 are based on learning dispositions and conduct, as stated on MOE website and what I read from this forum. However, I heard from current teachers that they still base on those “non weighted” tests to churn out the top 25%, so in the end it is still academics that is the main deciding factor, sort of contradicting the move away from academics at the lower primary level if so. Not sure which criteria holds true. 🤷🏻‍♀️
My experience from my kid is still based on academics so as not to be biased.

    • RE: Edusave Scholarship Award

There are 2 types of award. MOE Edusave award is given out by MOE- money from MOE. Those award like good character, good progress, eagles, scholarship, bursary etc all from MOE Edusave. The bursary one, you need to apply. Whereas the other type is CCC CDC Education merit award is given by the respective town council - money from town council. This award is for those are in the top 25% of their cohort. For both award, the CC will arrange ceremony to receive the award by the MP, it could be combined or separate depends on how the CC arrange it with the MP. Normally, the CCC/CDC education merit award is automatic give to awardee no need to apply.

The question was ,according to my child, a paper lantern with a candle and flame inside. The metal wire was on top of the candle used to hold the lantern. Paper is a poor conductor of heat so the paper conducted the heat away from the flame at a slower rate causing the paper to turn brown and burn. The paper lantern did not catch on fire. One question the GEP boys are arguing right now is the question where the ball was pushed upwards causing it to move in a curve and they asked what was false about forces. 1) The push force was used up causing the ball to fall (My son's answer)
      2) The weight of the ball caused the ball to slow down. I would appreciate your opinions on this question. Thank you!

Actually what exactly is the question? Is (2) phrase correct? Because it mentioned caused the ball to slow down or is it supposed to cause ball to fall down?

    • RE: DSA 2023

I think I saw some news that this year DSA application was higher compared to last year. So is the DSA intake for those IP schools higher than last year? Will this impact the cutoff points to even lower for the few limited vacancies now?

This question asks you to choose the incorrect option, and 1) is that incorrect one.

As the ball leaves the spring and rises, there is no longer any push force acting on it. so its subsequent falling is not due to the push force being used up.
Just chipped in for discussion purpose since I am not exactly sure how the question was phrased. I tend to think (2) is correct answer because according to newton’s law, F=Ma, where a is the acceleration and is constant, so be it heavy or light object. They will fall down at same speed. Just my guess. 😜 I think my gal did wrong too.
