there are around 5 Express classes, 2 N(A) classes and 1 N(T) class.

She missed out on first choice by a teeny tiny bit. But we are very happy enrolling in a school near home.

Btw, she is a non-affiliate.

I spoke to the principal, she says affiliates 60% non-affiliates 40%.
Non-affiliate cutoff 243, highest admitted is 260.
Any idea what is a TD class?

Hoping some snrs here cld answer these:

1. May I know if there’s a minimum grade to continue on with Higher Mother Tongue every yr?
2. I was told IJ will be using their Maths notes hence no text for Maths. May I kn if the topics covered in the notes are largely similar to those found in a typical Maths Sec1 textbook?
3. I noticed there is a netball recreational team. Does it mean that if my dd opt for netball, she will be to get in even if she doesnt make the cut for school team? My dd is also keen in athletics and badminton. But these dont hv recreational teams so I am assuming they are harder to get in.

we went to bras basah complex #03-21 to buy the uniforms and PE attire as the queue was just too long on the day daughter had to report for sec 1. the quality of the pinafore for the secondary level is better.

i was told that if my daughter is selected to take math express (she is in NA), there will be no textbook required. however, i still have the math textbook leftover from son and i bought the accompanying shinglee math workbook.

It is good to kp the text for reference. School notes may not clearly explained some of the topics.

yup agree. it's feels rather strange not to have the textbook. back then when stellar was used for english, i felt awkward not having english text.

Hi,

It’s first day of school for my Sec 1 DD tomorrow and I’m pretty excited.

just wondering, is there anyone here who know of girls taking higher mother tongue outside school (Malay or Tamil)?

I’d like to know if it’s crazy for the girls to cope doing HMT outside school plus CCA. But I really like the ij culture so my DD & I decided to make IJ our first choice despite having to do HMT outside school hours. Hopefully any info will come in handy before CCA selection this friday.

Also, how much to give for pocket money? I forgot to take a look at the canteen food prices.
