      Hi,

My son will start his third language lesson (Japanese) next week at Newton Campus. Anybody here also join that class? If let say I want to look for a fixed taxi / uber driver to pick him up every week after his lesson, anybody has any recommendation where can I find such a reliable driver? Or anybody want to car pool? I am staying at Jurong East area.

There were many boys in my sonโ€™s class who were sports DSA students - basketball, table tennis & badminton. My son is in a demanding sports too but not sports DSA. As far as I know, DSA or not, everyone train as hard and the same hours as sports CCA is taken very seriously in HCI.

Don't take chance. There is no reason for the teachers to not teach during lesson proper time. This is not kindergarten anymore. Sec sch is different. In any case, one must have a valid reason to be absent from school or he may be awarded demerit points if i am not wrong.

            Thanks 7788!

Seeking confirmation - I heard boys need to choose up to a maximum of 9 CCAs, with at least one Sports/ UG?

Are these boys allocated first by their skillsets or by interests?
And any appeal allowed if they are not allocated to their preferred choice?

Ytday my boy said that some sports like badminton, table tennis n wushi kinda of no chance of being accepted coz of DSA \"chopped\"already..So even if they are interested in the mentioned sports, does it mean they cannot put as their preferred choice? ๐Ÿ˜ข

Allocation should be by skillsets. Appeal is allowed but approval is on a case-by-base basis.

Don't waste your choices. Unless you think you are better than them. Choose a CCA that you think you have potential and will want to stay for the next 6 years.

Where sports are concerned, interest alone is not enough. One must be proficient (except perhaps Track & Field where a novice may be accepted if the coach has assessed that he has the potential and is groomable during trial) and only the best of the best are accepted. This is from my understanding.
