If there was absolutely no balloting (regardless of distance), then no, you are not required to be at that address for 30 month.
If, however, there was balloting for > 2km (even though you are 1 - 2km), you were deemed to have gained an advantage over those staying beyond 2km, so you must fulfill the 30 month minimum stay requirement. -

Really big thanks for your reply and i called MOE this morning to confirm this understanding as well. Such a relief now. I really couldn't sleep last night because i just booked a SOB flat from HDB but my friend told me i couldn't move because of the rule. i checked MOE website, it only stated \" a child who gains priority admission into a school through his/her distance category is required to reside at the address used for registration for at least 30 months from the commencement of the P1 registration exercise on 30 June 2016\". It didn't explain clearly the meaning of \"priority admission\" and gave me confusion. Thanks once again! If there was absolutely no balloting (regardless of distance), then no, you are not required to be at that address for 30 month.

Hi, my child is registering for p1 next year 2017 (starting p1 in 2018). If the purchased property's top date is jun 2019, are we allowed to use the address on the property? It's within 1km to our school of choice. Also if the s&p of new property is solely under wife's name ( husband's name not included), will that pose an issue? Thanks

Note that the dates stated in the FAQ apply to registration in the year 2016.
Since you are registering next year, just push all the dates back by 1 year.
I have purchased a yet-to-be completed property and should be moving in after the property is completed. Can I make use of the new home address for the purpose of registration?
Yes.
The new home address can be used provided that you are able to produce evidence from the relevant authority that you have committed to the purchase of this property. In addition, you have to sign a letter of undertaking to move into the new property within two years of the child's entry into P1.
In the case of private property, you must produce the certified true copy of the Sales and Purchase Agreement. For the 2016 Primary One (P1) Registration Exercise, the date of commitment by the developer in the Temporary Occupation Permit (TOP) must not be later than 31 December 2018.
In the case of Housing & Development Board (HDB) flat, the Customer Copy of the Agreement for Lease is required. For the 2016 Primary One (P1) Registration Exercise, the Delivery Possession Date must not be later than 31 December 2018.
A child who has made use of the TOP or DPD home-distance category priority to secure a place in a school is required to stay at the new address for at least 30 months starting from the time the family moves into the property. For example, if the child registers in 2016 and only moves into the new address in July 2018, the 30 months stay period starts from July 2018. -
Dear experts, can ask after Phase 2C, can we still change address (really move to another place) to register 2CS?
Thanks -
Hi. This question may sound silly but I hope someone can help provide me some clarity. I read the registrations rules many times but can’t quite understand still.
I am in the midst of selling my flat and moving. If all goes well, I should move into my new place around June-Aug.
If so, which address do I qualify to use for the 1-2km? -

Which of the two qualify you for between 1-2km? And what does the other one qualify you under?
Logically, you have to use the new address because if there's a ballot, and you have made use of the distance priority, you will not be allowed to move > 2km. -
Hi floppy. Thanks. I think I've managed to find my answer

I have an HDB flat within 1km of Rosyth school, and currently I’m staying at Sengkang area. I’m interested to register for PV in 2018 as my gal will be due for registration in 2019 for 2020 P1 intake.
Any advice how Rosyth does shortlisting if PV registration is too much overwhelmed? I have no problem to move back to 1km of the school, but my question is on when should I move back. Is my chance of getting PV lower if I stay out of 2km during PV registration?
If I’m lucky and got PV registration successful, when should I move back? Is there requirement of minimum stay at the address BEFORE for P2b registration?
Thanks a lot and any advice or comment is appreciated.
