Are the students mixed at random in all classes, or is there a top class?

Unless I am wrong, I believe it to be randomly allocated. My child has better PSLE results but was sent to a supposedly last class (by alphabet) when compared to her friend who has a lower tscore.

Hi! My DS just got transferred from CL to HCL. He sort of requested personally for it and sat through a test I suppose and only telling me after he was given the transfer with the letter (think he insisted to the school to keep it silent as I had once rejected him from doing so scared he cannot handle) so I was not really mentally prepared. It is good that he is mature enough to insist on decisions that may benefit him given that HCL students enjoy much more opportunities but will it be stressful for a student like him who did't take HCL before (despite his CL results have been consistently quite well)?
