Does he only want to do business? Or is he open to other disciplines as well? It would be good to visit other polys as well to get a better idea of what they offer. JAE counselling is very important. At this stage, it would be good if you and/or husband accompany your son for JAE counselling. You need to know what to expect in order to guide him in his decision making as well. -

If he is keen on business courses, he would be eligible for a number in RP, some in NYP and TP. -
since business option is out, he will turn to IT like infocomm.
we will be choosing IT courses in NP and also SP…for the next few days, we will be selecting options carefully based on his score and his interests. it is necessary to set realistic options.
he is keen in multimedia & animation (15) and information technology (15). is it safe to put these as first 2 options based on his score of 18? -

I don't want to sound like a wet blanket but it's important to look at realistic options. He is unlikely to meet the COP (based on last year's cohort) of the Business and IT courses in both NP and SP.since business option is out, he will turn to IT like infocomm.

Given the limited time, his effort is probably better spent exploring/visiting the other Polys and examine the courses that they offer to determine whether those courses match his interests. Don't get fixated on NP and SP or he may loses the plot. -

COP for Multimedia in NP (N55) is 15.
COP for Info Tech in NP (N54) and SP (S69) is also 15.
On the other hand, COP for Info Tech in TP, NYP and RP is 19, 20 and 26 respectively. They would be more realistic options. -

What's the COP for business course in Polys?
The lowest is 6 (yes 6, for 5 subjects :siao: ) for the niche \"international business\" course in NP.
Highest being 26 for some courses in RP. -

Hmmm... just saw the link provided by floppy. Looks like COP for NYP animation has dropped to 15 points. Used to be 18 or 19 points 2-3 year ago.
