Same worry here. Think they are still in the process of CCA talent identification. So don’t know when CCA will start. Feel a bit lost here. When DS was in primary school, we were updated of school happenings through teachers, class parents chat group etc. Now I don’t even know who the classmates parents are. Is it normal like that when the boys progress to secondary school?

They can manage their studies & CCA, don’t worry. Some of the boys make use of recess time or lunch break to do their homework. Most CCAs are 3 times a week. You can check the school web porter for the frequencies.


As far as I know, I don’t think they can rent the lockers, the lockers are mainly for sports students. I may be wrong though

I can't find it now, maybe they have removed last year's schedule as they have moved the parents from Sharepoint to AsknLearn portal. However, do not worry, you will be given a few documents to read through before the CCA selection. The schedule is in one of them. If I remember correctly, your child will receive all the required documents/ information via SharePoint.

Can leave the textbooks in the classrooms. My boy's bookshelves (at home) are always almost empty during term time. He 'studies' and finishes most of his homework in school.


My boy says the Lockers are for the brothers from Sports classes only.

CCAs are usually 3x a week, more often near competitions & performances (note that there's SYF for Performing Arts CCAs this year).

Don't worry. Your boys will be fine handling schoolwork & CCAs. If he's not coping well, the teachers will invite you to the school for coffee.. :evil:

How did CHS fare for O level this year?

My son said that at assembly a few days ago, Principal said that 23.6% got at least 8 distinctions and 56% (somewhere there, he remembered it is 50+%) got at least 6 distinctions. Note that number of students who took Os last year was halved as the other half are in IP, so every student "represents" 2 students in previous years.
