Oh yes.. Now I recall what my boy shared with me last year.
RI boys assembled on one side of the Hall while RGS gals assembled on the other side (in their respective Y4 classes). Their recess breaks and sample lectures were scheduled at different timings. There was minimal contact between the boys & gals. They could only admire each other from afar.
Of course, the boys & gals did interact during CCAs, which started as early as week-1 for students who chose to continue with the same CCA as in sec schools.
DS said he saw some girls in uniform other than RGS uniform. Do DSA students come earlier than JAE students?

Very humorous iFirefly! According to my DD, it's true that both genders are separated with minimum/ no contact. Break times are different too. They are with their Y4 Form class. There are auditions for some CCA. As for admiring boys from afar, she didn't mention to me at all.
How's your gal doing so far ? Is she enjoying JC more than Sec Sch ? Has she decided on her CCA? -
How do RI year 4 students did for this year o level higher chinese?
Seem very quiet this year. -

Btw, I've noticed the Houses in RIJC have double names, compared to those in RI. Are these (Waddle, Buckle, Hadley, Tarbet, Richardson) the Houses in RGS ?
- RI Y1-4 : Bayley (yellow), Buckley (green), Hullett (black), Moor (red), Morrison (blue).
- RIJC Y5-6 : Bayley-Waddle (yellow), Buckle-Buckley (green), Hadley-Hullett (black), Moor-Tarbet (red), Morrison-Richardson (blue). -
House activities start in Orientation, which is when the JAEs come in (3rd Feb).
Yeah, they combined RG and RI houses to give the RJ houses. -
