Is hci or ri better? I actually can't come to a conclusion despite visiting both the open houses and listening to the talks

I have DD in both RJC and HCI.
Both JC are in tier 1 league. They are both good schools producing good results.
However, they are very different in term of:
      1) so called western and cheena culture (used by Singaporean). Eg. school song.
      2) school environment. You will feel the vast differences.
      3) specialty in CCA and gaining scholarships.
      4) the ways of celebration of CNY, etc.

My eldest DD was in SCGS, something like Pernakan culture, when she joined HCI. she was completely taken aback, but of course she adapt and is part of the great HCI family. Hope it help.

Hi esme38. Can you please elaborate on pt (2)?

DD was torn between RI(JC) & HCI but had finally settled on RIJC. However, it's still possible that she may get her second choice HCI. Thanks in advance!

May I know what you mean by your DD being taken aback when she joined HCI?

My DS got in with 3 points nett.

Heard HCI COP this year is 4 for both Science/Art. This is unchanged from the previous year.

RI COP is also 4, dropped from 3 points last year.

                      Thanks zbear,

Yes, most likely he will take PCME combination.

By the way, I have gone through HCI's 2-week orientation programme. In between orientation, they have talks, selection tests and even lessons :yikes:

                      So many things to do!
