I feel so insecure without seeing them do assessment books on a regular basis. Just do school homework, will it be enough?
      :hi5:
i know right...even if they do 3 or 4 questions from the assessment book, i know what level of understanding my child is at. but doing school hw is for the sake of doing so. i don't bother to check because the teacher has to mark and also know whether the child understands. no point handing in a perfect piece of hw and teacher assumes she knows.

i asking her to do \"a bit\" more extra work (eg. 3 math question + 1 compre a day ) on top of her school workload
3 maths questions OK. Everyday do 1 compre can be daunting on top of school workload.

It is good that kids have breaktime. That will can \"reset\" the mind. That is my opinion.

Me also.....feel damn insecure when got no time to do assessment books. Depend on school work, I feel, is not enough. Worse when kids sometime tried to finish the school works in the class and get it submitted, and we as parents did not see the marked school work's until very much later date. By the time when one sees the atrocious work, then start to go panic mode. :faint:

I know this is psle thread. Besides doing assessment books, don’t forget to find time to read. Reading is good for the brains. Many years ago, the top psle student in my class, the 400+ score type, read chinese wu xia xiao shuo throughout the psle year.

If your child is doing well in school, don’t bother doing assessment books. It is a waste of time. Better do top school papers for the child to familiarize with types of questions.

If the school hasn’t taught the topic yet, skip the topic and do it after the school go through the topic.

Only use the assessment book if your child needs more practice to build foundation on his/her weak areas.

                  btw,

the 3 math question or language paper that i give (but my child might not do as she is not very disciplined type) will be a mixture of both top school past year paper and assessment book.
i try to do it alternate week, not sure if good enough 😄

T score is 300 max, even school results is 400 max. How to get 400+ score :? :stompfeet:

even so…T-Score can never be 300. Statistically calculation not possible even if all subject is full marks. Because the calculation takes into average score and unless the average cohort score damn low.
