With ref to the Maybank Structured deposit , I wonder if there is a deliberate mistake.


In the papers ,it is saying

Minimum effective interest rate is 2.3073% p.a.3

In the Maybank webpage, it is saying

Maximum effective interest rate is 2.3073% p.a.3

yep correct. min u get 2.3% int rate ,max u can get is also 2.3% -no more no less, Must keep the capital/deposit for 5 hard yrs with the bank.

The mentioned structured deposit only mentioned 100% principal guaranteed , hence you may not get any returns/gain at all after maturity. Hence i feel it is kind of misleading by saying \"minimum\" effective interest rate.

So you will be getting regular income and collect the full principal at the end of the tenure.

I remember there was a lot of activities this time last year - Stanchart, Maybank all offering very competitive rates.

Those who put in 12 months last year probably have their deposits matured around now. But the rates are so pathetic now the structured deposits look good in comparison. Anyone seriously looking at this? But it is for 5 years, min 30k.
