There are students who can manage O levels exams easily (only pay attention in class and self study) without working too hard and with no additional help. If a student has the ability and talent. Half the battle won liao. Not everyone study like siao for O levels but they can still emerge with Distinction. Not all the time u put in time and effort u get results. To study science ur brain must be highly analytical and can self learn. If everything needs to be taught during O levels, A levels is not for u. No one will teach u every single technique for A levels. You can ask the teacher 1 question to get 10 questions thrown at ur face. Harsh reality of A levels.

My chances of succeeding is another thing. I’m just asking my chances of getting enrolled into the school.

Hi. I'm new here, since this forum is very active, I need reassurance. My L1R4 is 17. My net agg score is 15. I meet all the pre-resiquites which means that I don't need to go for conditional admission. My first choice is Science and second is art. Do any of you think I'll get in??? My friend's Friend from MI said that I'll get \"dumped\" into commerce streamm with my agg. Is it true???? 😢 :thankyou:

          My L1R4:
          English:B4
          Pure Bio B3
          MT:B3
          CCA:A1
          A/E Math/C6
What is the point of crying now? Seriously. Ok. I will not be so harsh but gut feeling tells me that u dunno what u have applied for. Have u done physics or chemistry in O levels? If not what combination do u plan to take in Science?

Well, you have opened up a can of worms :rotflmao:

In any case, your chances of success is as important (or should I say more important) than your chance of getting enrolled into the stream/school. A level, by itself, is a fairly useless qualification.

Spot on! A level cert is useless if can't enrol for further education.

No don't! You'll regret big time!

You should go to commerce instead. I don't know if your B4 for Eng is good enough for H1 Lit. I heard from my friends A level Lit was very difficult..Have u checked what books MI is using? Do you have any one to help you with Lit at home?

H2 Bio and Chem...Oh no...😓 You should know candidates taking these 2 subjects are gunning for Med Sch, i.e. to become doctors, if not some clinical scientist or biomed/chem enggr ...

Can you do a bit of background check on MI's Bio and Chem results/quality passes, as well as the quality and reputation of their lecturers?

C6 for A and E Maths? Oh no...not good enough if your E Math wasn't even a B. You definitely need a private tutor to coach you on H2 Math for 3 years.

And don't forget there's GP and PW. And MT!

You know your limitations. You know who your competitors are out there. Just go to commerce, not arts please.

How about: Mgmt, H2 Math, H2 Econs? Or perhaps try MTLL since your MTL is quite strong (B3). You can get into NUS FASS with just BBC/C if you choose to major in Chinese Studies after MI.

Be an NIE pri-sch MTL teacher, or work for SPH/MediaCorp or copywriter for ad agencies or MCI (Chinese translation dept). It really isn't that bad u know! 🙂

I'd had church friends from the former OI and SI who flunked their A levels even after 3 years. 3 Years weren't enough for the 20+ pointers. They needed 4 years to get into university. FYI, those who cleared in 3 years didn't do that badly for their PSLE. Probably T-score of 220-230 thereabouts?

Too late. I put 1st choice Science course. You think I'll get in?

I dunno! You’ll have to keep your fingers crossed. Maybe you can seek a transfer to Commerce after successfully getting into Science?

H2 Econs should be doable, if you have good notes and perhaps get a tutor?

Why didn’t you consider Accounting? You don’t like to be an accountant? I think it’s better than going to Science Faculty. Unless you wanna be a Science teacher in Primary School?

Did you check the other 3 unis’ requirements for Science faculties? UniSim…
