      Hi,

      Thanks for the reply.

      1. Just to confirm, AM cannot get the PA endorsement letter?
      Yes.

        Hi correct me if I’m wrong.

        Based on my Understanding, yes you can get GRC A’s chairman to allow You to continue service but as an AM (not EM), while physically staying in GRC B.

        Come p2b, you have to get the letter from your chairman in GRC A. The letter will state your residing address and you can use that letter to apply for schools in the GRC B where you reside in.

        AM is still entitled to p2b letter but no voting rights

          I quote the below source from an article from ChiefKiasu;

          EM is a must before PA give you the chance to apply for letter of endorsement, it is not a given all EM will get that chance, and also not all apply will get approve by Advisor.

          Unless there are new amendment to the GRL guideline, I remember AM is not entitled to GRL perks.

            I have clarified with PA over this as it concerns me too. PA advised Am is still eligible for p2b. You might want to clarify with PA too.

            Have a great day!

              i just spoke to my CD.
              she claimed that AM qualifies too.

              and i re-read the 2016 email from my CM before that year's of Pri 1 application.
              (i can't find the distinction between EM and AM, to be honest)

                Quite strange to hear that as my CD was very strict in handing out application for letter of endorsement to EM only during my time.

                Quote from Ex-Education Minister;

                \"Mr Heng Swee Keat: Under the current Primary One (P1) Registration Framework, current serving committee members of the Residents’ Committee (RC), Neighbourhood Committee (NC), Citizen’s Consultative Committee (CCC), Community Club Management Committee (CCMC) and the Community Development Council (CDC) are eligible to register their children under Phase 2B as active community leaders. To qualify as active community leaders, the People’s Association (PA) requires the community leaders to serve actively in these Committees for at least one year prior to the P1 registration exercise.\"

                http://sprs.parl.gov.sg/search/topic.jsp?currentTopicID=00077817-WA&currentPubID=00077751-WA&topicKey=00077751-WA.00077817-WA_2%2BhansardContent43a675dd-5000-42da-9fd5-40978d79310f%2B

                This was published in 2012 before the 2 years minimum service period, but the key words are \"current serving committee members\", and as far as I can remember, AM is not part of the Exco as they cannot hold officebearer positions thus not considered as \"current serving committee members\".

                But if your CD says otherwise, it is good news and hopefully the guidelines won't change again.

                  Hi everyone,

                  I am new here and needed advise on certain issues. We r staying in hougang, but is in aljunied grc and also an opposition party ward. So does it mean we are only eligible for schools in aljunied grc if we wanna register under phase 2b? Since hougang is also held by the same party, are schools in hougang eligible for phase 2b too?
                  2ndly, where can I find out which schools are in my constituency? Moe website only show schools in zones (no aljunied).

                    Hi guys,

                    I am not familiar with this whole process but I am quite keen on this. If I reside at GRC A and I intend to send my kid to a school located at GRC B. Should I just directly volunteer at GRC B?

                    Also, if I serve a minimum of at least 2 years & I move to GRC B prior to the primary school registration, I would qualify for phase 2B? Or would they see the performance/contribution of how I done for the GRC or my ranks etc.

                    Thanks.

                      Hi can any experience members help me?

                      I’m grassroots leader in GRC A for many years already but I’m not in RC/NC or MC. Now that I need to think of my kid’s school we are going to move to GRC B. i filled in the volunteer form in GRC B and they told me I have to start from observer. Is that true?

                      I’m feeling stress because I understand I have to be a member by June this year otherwise I can’t register my Son in 2 years time.

                      Does anyone has any advise for me? Thanks a lot!
