don’t think of it this way, adversity makes the boy grows stronger and hopefully he gets more motivated to do the right thing after successful appeal.

Janet, I agree with Floppy. It's better to apply to all the eligible polys. It will give you higher success probability. If you are offered from more than 1 poly, then you can choose too. Isn't it better?janet88:
yesterday's appeal was unsuccessful. son burst out in tears. he has been unlucky all these years. i feel so heartache. yesterday, we did DAE to another poly.
In this situation, I would suggest that you DAE to all the eligible polys. DAE are administered separately from JAE. Doesn't mean that when you failed in your appeal in JAE, you are ineligible for DAE. -

I did experienced this situation during secondary posting. Almost didn't get an express stream in neighbourhood school. Not unlucky lah, this experience would help him to walk his life. Understand better of the situation and the competition out there. Please support him well, I think deep inside he feels uncomfortable too. Afterall, we as parents, in the end could only support our children and they need to grow up and equip themselves to survive and conquer later part of their life. Jiayou Janet88, wish the DAE is a successful one. :xedfingers:
we chose courses with cop about 1-2 points above his score...yet it was unsuccessful. so now it is DAE...this boy really unlucky.Imp75:
oh dear Janet.....so sorry to hear this!

Hi Janet,
Do encourage your son. Maybe with the extra year he’ll manage alright with CL and GP. -

Has your boy been attending Orientation / lessons in MI since last Friday ? How does he find MI (teachers, peers, school environment & culture) ? If you wanna spare your boy from endless waiting / uncertainties / disappointments, you may wish to consider (again) if MI is a better option for him.
Good Luck & All The Best to your boy !! -

Hi, Janet,
Sorry to hear that. Pls encourage your son to accept what HE has planned for him. In my working life, I have witnessed enough cases of success which does not commensurate with qualifications. If you asked me, what I think constitute to the SUCCESS of a person is really the attitude. This is the ONE that can make or break a person. Qualification is just a piece of paper and I believe there are more than one path to achieve this. Please dun take it too hard and stay positive. Take care !
I agree. Attitude is more important than academic qualifications.
Everything happens for a reason n when 1 door is closed, another will open.
This experience will make your DS a stronger n better person.
Hope that he will succeed in his DAE.
