      traswanky:

      hello janet88,
I have been taught by Mr Ho and I can say that he is definitely not like what your daughter has described him as :boogie:
Mr Ho's voice is very low and quite booming, so it will give the impression that he is shouting/screaming at the students even though he is not. He also tends to raise his voice (not in the angry way) much more than the other teachers so it seems as if he's angry all the time. I hope this clears up some things for you and your dd. šŸ™‚
i get a better idea about Mr Ho now...according to daughter, his voice is rather loud and seems like he is shouting & is angry all the time. so, he is actually fine and that's his personality. thank you for explaining.

        traswanky:

drama is really fun, most people thoroughly enjoy it and the teachers are mostly very passionate about their craft and teach well. drama can be taken as an elective programme in sec 3, just like AEP, MEP, there would be DEP if your daughter chooses to apply for it. it can then be taken as an o level subject; drama also teaches you how to be more confident and how to project your voice/produce skits or plays.
my daughter loves drama...she spent one year in singapore media academy when she was in p5 but discontinued because of psle. this girl is one drama queen :faint: . so if she enjoys the lesson conducted during curriculum hours and opts to take it at o level, there will be another avenue for her after her Os...she is not academically strong.

          2016 @year end of Secondary 2 : Subject Combination, entering Sec 3 / Sec 4 : -

( pls remove the two open and closed quotes, at both end, before hit <Enter>, on URL )

          note
          in primary schools -
students automatically get \"promoted\" or \"pushed up\" to the next level, all the way up till PSLE.
There is no retention, for primary school students.

However, in Secondary school (s) -
if a student doesn't perform well at CHIJ Toa Payoh Secondary, it is possible to be retained : @ end of Sec 3, or @ end of Sec 4, be it in Express stream, or in Normal stream.
          So, do work hard

(Secondary school : 8 or 9 \"O\" level subjects, is a different ball game, from primary school's a few 4 core subjects)

yup...lots of possibilities in secondary school, be it IJ or any other school. in the booklet given, if the girl does well for her NA in 4 subjects or EL and 2 other subjects, she will be promoted to sec 2. for students in S1 NA, she can be promoted to Sec 2 express if she scores 70% average for overall subjects....but sec 1 express can also be transferred to sec 2 NA too. very scary.

                this year (2017) -

there is only One Sec 3 class : that offer \"Triple Sciences\" subject combination, at CHIJ Toa Payoh Girls' Secondary.

                this class is : Sec 3 /1

over here, in this Secondary school : the naming convention of classes go by : number.
Not go by the name of flower, unlike her affliated CHIJ Toa Payoh primary school.

                      Hi,

Just wondering if the girls can wear any white socks or must it be the one labelled CHIJ?
Also, are the "CHIJ" socks only avail at Shanghai Uniform Shops?

                      TIA for any info
