      Oh My Gosh:

I see. So if the students did not sign up for anything, they do not have to turn up for school? E.g. for the Sec 1, they will be having their SOAC Camp from 8-10 March (Wed to Fri), then do they need to turn up for school for Mon and Tue?

How does the points system work? Do the points have an expiry date or do they get carried forward to the rest of the IP years if the students did not use them in a particular year?
I think all the students must sign up for a programme - so must still bid for the programme they are interested in. But for Sec 1s, I remembered my boy going for the SOAC camp instead of the sabbatical programmes. I think they still need to turn up on Mon and Tue.

        New Mum:

        Hi Catmoon,
Curious to know how is the bidding process like? Highest bidder win? Does school result play a part? Like those with better results has higher chance of getting the bid.
        Thanks in advance :rahrah:
The boys are given points at the start of the year and they can check under iVLE (web portal). Those who have done well the previous year, or taken part in some academic competition, are given extra points. I think how successful the bid is depends on how many points more he wants to bid.

Actually, I'm amazed at how lucky the boys get to enjoy these programmes. 😄

A few questions for the Sec 1 Camp:

          (1) The Equipment list states 3-5 T-shirts and 3-5 shorts. Are the boys allowed to wear home T shirt or must all the T shirts be HCI/ CCA/ school T-shirts?
          (2) Are the boys allowed to pack their items into a luggage (During their P5 camp, DS school allows students to pack into a luggage) or must it be packed into a backpack bag?

Yes, the boys need to wear HCI-related PE/CCA/class t-shirts.
My boy sometimes end up wearing only 2 sets for a 3-day camp :rotflmao:

No luggage, just backpack and a large, reusable shopping bag (sleeping bag, slippers, 1.5L water bottles)

Nope. The only combined activity is the annual Combined Sports Day (HCI, HCIS and NYGH)

Haha... yucks but nice to hear that  ... cos for now, he only has 2 PE shirt and 1 consortium T-shirt, and I do not wish to buy more T-shirts. Cos he told me there will be a camp T-shirt (not sure before or during the camp), his class is designing a class T-shirt, his CCA will have another T-shirt... I do not want to end up with too many T-shirts in the end 🤷

Maybe the School is creating opportunities for some students to plan some \"personal\" night activities 🕺

hi, does anyone know the percentage of sec 4 boys who manage to get b4 and above for their HCL so they can drop in Jc1?

                        Thanks!
