CHIJ Family of Schools
-
Hi mom_of_3,
I’m fine with kids having SA1 and SA2 at P1…bcos SA1 is in May which is 5 months into school curriculum, and kids even those born year end (like my gal) would have adjusted.
I don’t belong to alumni, bcos we were still deciding whether IJ TP or same school as older sibling then…then it was too late to join late last year. Besides, I have no time to attend any meetings if I join alumni. -
Posted at OLN’s thread but no reply…
Am considering if this school is good for my gal. Any parent of current student can share how’s the school? Teachers are competent and loving? How’s the school culture? Happy with the development for your kid? All feedback welcome. thanks. -
Why RI doesn't have so many branches? :?

Then, we don't have to fight for places. -

CHIJ has several schools under its ''family umbrella''...unfortunately not all CHIJ primary schools go to one secondary schoolWhy RI doesn't have so many branches? :?

or affiliated to same secondary school. I was from CHIJ Toa Payoh Primary which is affiliated to CHIJ TP Secondary (or former students of IJ Victoria St).
IJ St Nicholas has its own primary/secondary. I'm staying nearer to IJ Chestnut (Upp Bukit Timah) but can't qualify under Phase 2A in that school. -
Suggest to MOE, select only best teachers for primary schools. They must have Adam Khoo type of motivating skills. :celebrate:
Then, we not so headache over pri sch selection.

Hi Mummies,
I would like to know how you feel about the behaviour of girls in IJ now…guess it’s all the same with the IJ group of schools. Can anyone enlighten me please ? Thanks. -
Hi,
I need advice.
Under CHIJ TPY last year 2009, under phase 2B, there was a ballot (APP 119% TUR 75%), what does the figure mean?
I am a Catholic and would like to enrol my dd at IJ TPY in 2013.
When should I start to PV and where to get the appln forms and when is the closing date for 2013 enrolment?
Thanks in advance! -

TUR means how many percent of total places taken up by end of that phase (ie 25% left for Phase 2C and further). APP 119% means applications were 19% above the total available spaces.
Usually I just look at the colour, for IJ TPY, seems like more than 2KM is quite scary...will have to ballot.
If you are catholic, I think you won't have to do PV for catholic schools. Speak to your church about getting the recommendation letter. Query first now even if your child is enrolling in 2013 - make sure you are eligible for the letter.
If you are looking at PV in other schools, best way is to call up. Some schools accept PV way in advance, so don't worry about being too early. I have seen one parent who is registering next year, but already completed the 40 hours LAST year. -

There is no need for a recommendation letter from any Catholic church. All you need is the baptism certificate (some want both yours and child's, some just want the child's cert). So make sure you can find your own baptism cert ahead of time. If you lost it, better go to the church you were baptized at to ask for a copy. No need to do PV at Catholic schools. Eligible for Phase 2B at all Catholic schools with the baptism cert.

Hi all, I am new here. I would like to clarify the phase 2B eligiblity. If only one of the parent is Catholic, will the school let u register under 2B? I have checked the MOE website, and seems it stated that as long as parent is the church member, it should be ok.
However, while browsing the forum, some said the child must be catholic also…???
