All About Primary Schools' Balloting History
-
Any one staying in the west looking at Frontier primary or Jurong West Primary School? I am staying within 1km for this 2 school but this 2 school are equally popular. Meaning if I apply for Frontier then if unable to get in, I don't think I have the chance for phase 2CS  for Jurong Primary and vice versa.
Looking at the statistic provided by Kiasu parents, last year there are no balloting required for SC within 1km. But birth rate for 2011 is definitely more than those born in 2010. Every mummy I talk to told me SC within 1KM no problem de la! BUT previously there are still balloting history.....unsettling and worrying for me! Any advises from West mummies? -

Frontier is most likely to ballot (could be < 1km or 1km to 2km) for SC, whereas Jurong West haven't been balloting for SC in the last 6 years (i.e. since Frontier becomes an option). Hence, your concern for Frontier / P2C is real.
You should have a backup plan for P2CS or keep observing the registration trend for Frontier during P2C, and be prepared to switch when balloting becomes a reality. Alternatively, you can apply for Jurong West straightaway as it is unlikely to ballot within 1km. -
Hi, I see. Noted. So meaning if by day 3 if balloting is more or less confirm needed for SC<1KM in Frontier, I must go ahead to withdraw my registration under frontier and proceed to apply in Jurong West primary right?

It depends whether you are happy to go ahead with the ballot or not. If you like to take the risk, stay put. If you prefer to play it safe, move your registration to Jurong West. Ultimately, you have options. -

just bear in mind that balloting bears risk !
consequences :-
in the event fail to ballot into Frontier successfully at Phase 2C, then you'll end up enrolling your kid in whatever residual, remaining vacancies are left behind, in those schools left under next phase for enrollment (ie. Phase 2C Supplementary)
If u are risk adverse : then just enrol your kid smoothly into Jurong West primary at 2C, if no balloting is required.
whether you want to take risk or not, at 2C : is up to you.
But, why u need to withdraw ?
No need to withdraw, since both schools fall under Phase 2C, in your case ?
on the LAST day of Phase 2C, during the last few hours left in the afternoon, u decide, carefully, which school u want -
if want to try your luck, at balloting : enrol into Frontier
But, if u are risk adverse: then, enrol into Jurong West -
Thank you for your kind advises.
Need to really think about it… -
Hi there, I have been reading up the KSP forum to understand more about the P1 registration process. Great site n lots of useful advices. However could anyone point to me or advise me for P2B if there were balloting at Nanhua primary, Henry Park primary and Fairfield Methodist last year? I gathered that in p2c have to be <1 km to stand any chance with these schools… and also for Qifa primary was there any balloting for phase2Cs? Many thanks for your help.

Hi there, last year phase 2B Fairfield balloting for SC at 1-2km: https://www.kiasuparents.com/kiasu/article/queenstown/
Henry Park no balloting but that's probably because there are very few PVs or GRLs: https://www.kiasuparents.com/kiasu/article/bukit-timah/
Nan Hua no balloting last year but could be due to Tiger year fewer \"Chinese\" parents had babies: https://www.kiasuparents.com/kiasu/article/clementi/
Qifa recent years by phase 2CS has zero places left. Last year at phase 2C balloting for SC >2km (see same link as Nan Hua). -

Looks like I should not consider PV at Fairfield as it might be risky...? -
Mummytang:
You can apply to as many PV as you like. Shouldn't let the decision be driven by the data. There's no guarantee that you will be selected by the school. Apart from PV and GRL, Fairfield Methodist is also affected by the number of Methodist applicants.zac's mum:
