Hi anyone knows if the school is supportive of any kids with mild learning difficulties like high functioning autism, dyslexia?

I know there was a boy in my ds' class in p1 that had a shadow teacher. Didn't have by p2.

I don't pretend to know the answer to this and truly hope they do! Let me know if you ever find out!

According to my son, though, some teachers seem really strict and unforgiving if you forget stuff etc. There are relatively consistent threats of punishment for those who can't keep up. (not grades but for poor behavior or forgetting stuff) But they may be more forgiving if they know of the underlying situation.

3 of the boys in my son's class are supposedly \"scolded\" by some teachers almost daily for not keeping up or talking etc. Do take note that it's a young boy's report tho. Catholic High looks like an well-oiled efficient machine. I'm not so sure they have teachers to spare. I do know what you speak of though. Whilst overseas, we had the chance to watch Learning Support teachers at work. These were awesome for those who needed a little nudge in the right direction. Typically for kids who had atrocious handwriting, problems paying attention or other mild disabilities.

If you follow this link on Allied Educators:
        https://www.moe.gov.sg/education/programmes/support-for-children-special-needs
AEDs(LBS) support students with mild special educational needs such as dyslexia, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) by: - See more at: https://www.moe.gov.sg/education/programmes/support-for-children-special-needs#sthash.oqIuo9u4.dpuf
I'm not sure it will be enough tho. Do check it out and give MOE a call maybe or Catholic High itself?

Hi, was wondering if every boy has to do higher Chinese from P1, or can choose to do so when they reach P5.

Was told that for Maris Stella, it’s the latter.
          Not sure with CHS.

HCL from p1-p4. You can choose again at p5

              Hi all,

I would like to check whether there’s any chance of getting in Catholic High (PRI) during Phase 2B if one stays between 1km - 2km?
Or what happens is the parents are turned away from registration because there’s balloting even for one who stays within 1km?

              Thanks.

From past history, CHS only has space for SC in phase 2B.

If, by chance, there were space available for PR, those living within 1km would
be balloting for them first. So PR outside of 1km pretty much has no chance at all.

Thanks much for your kind feedback. We are hoping to schedule a session with the principal to find out more sometime next month, to see what sorta support that the sch is prepared to render before deciding whether to enroll my son 🙂

                    Dear all,

Is there Catechism lessons for Catholic pupils held in the school?

                    Thank you…

Only lessons during school curriculum time, but it cannot take the place of the catechism lessons held by your parish.
