For NUSH DSA, online registration is from 3 April to 18 June 2017, whereby parents and child fill in the exam results, participation in competition etc.
Tentative date for DSA testing only starts on 23 June 2017, followed by DSA camp on 15 July and lastly the interview on 31 July. -
Francoise:
Yes, the Open House for NUSH is this Saturday 8 April from 9 am to 5 pm.tsh0202:
DSA for NUS High starts today.
So fast?!
The OH is this Sat isn't it? -
I have a dilemma whether to go or not to go. DS loves math but NUSH does not have the CCA that he is currently in.

-
Ask your DS whether he mind if he gets to do lots of sciences & math but not his favorite CCA. His response will be your clue if he will enjoy himself @ NUSH. Pointless if he drags himself daily to NUSH if he gripe abt not having his favorite CCA. He’ll not be a happy person.
I know mine will be very happy to quickly complete his studies if he is looking fwd to a desirable activity or return fr one with zest for the rest of the day.
You know your DS best. Do chat with your young fellow. Hope the chat will help clear your doubts & help your child to narrow down choices.
All the best to your DS! -
Thanks, Estéema for your input.
Your DS is very bright! I am sure he has no problem getting into his dream school.
I will speak to him again (which most likely will end up with a IDK) #palmface
All the best to your DS too! -

Hi Francoise,
Agree with Esteema regarding finding out what type of school your child will look forward to based on his interest etc. If he still have the IDK look, going to Open House is one way to help to expose him to various possibilities as well as have a feel of ‘ambience’ and culture of the school.
As NUSH is not participating in S1 posting, the only way to enrol is via DSA. You can always decide whether to do DSA after the Open House visit. -

If he hasn't yet decided, I think going to the Open House will be educational for him. There are other schools with Math-focused programmes that he should also visit to get a better idea of which school he thinks would be the best fit for him holistically. Just because he attends the open house doesn't mean he has to go to the school, or even try for DSA into the school.

Thanks JR and Fable! We’ll definitely be there!
