DC's SA1 oral for both Eng & Chinese just over this week.
S'times our kids get study fatigue. Better to give them small \"happy moments\" or rewards - his/her favorite Jap, Korea, pizza or MosBurger meals (just one w/o over indulging); swimming with favorite person, ice-cream, etc. Then, at meal table outside of home grounds, congratulate child for completing Orals & agree with child to be ready for completing the SA1 journey. Ensure they've sufficient rest, take a deep breathe & \"chiong\" again.
All the best to all kids taking SA1. :xedfingers: -

We don’t have time to practise so many schools’ past year qns.
Tr let them practise, from most recent 2016, Until past 3 years. If u want to practise more, go ahead.
For Science :
her school’s SA1 test everything taught in P3, plus this year P4 (Life Cycle, Matter, Light)
Different schools : test different Science topics
My friend’s P4 daughter, from St Anthony Cannosian convent :
SA1 Test all of P3 that’s been taught, plus P4 (Heat, Light), but exclude P4 (Life Cycle, Matter)
Does yours include (Heat, Light) for SA1 ?
Did you check with your Science Tr, whether if spell scientific terminology wrongly, will they penalise students, like minus half a mark type ?
I had checked with my kid’s Science Tr.
Tr replied that he won’t penalise marks, if spell scientific terminology wrongly, unless in situation whereby words like "stem" is spelled wrongly as "steam", because these two are totally different, then Yes, he will penalize / minus marks. -
I let dd tried 2 Math papers and 1 Sci paper. omg when i marked the Math paper just now(yes I learned from you mommies, will mark it myself and let her do correction). her careless mistakes I really want to take my hat off, scolded her and bed time she told me she feel stress coz I rushed her and scolded her.
we havent go through the text books also. thinking of going through just the exam papers and cross reference to revision books for questions she has problems? hope it works. -
I dunno what they have taught also :faint: in this case probably better to use her school SA1 past years qns hor. wait use other schools, topics not the same then in trouble. why dont they go by same topics ?
