      Hi mummies,

Can i know how do you all manage with maths problems for home work that the kids don’t know? Its really stacking up day by day for corrections but my son have no time to ask teacher due to supplementary and cca on weekdays. Do you accumulate on weekend tutions to solve them? Does anyone have such issues, greatly appreciate your suggestions.

      Thanks in advance !

If you only need the solutions, then can ask in KSP

Does his teacher not go through the questions? If it's urgent such as a test is nearing, then I will get my child to ask her tutor.

Best not to accumulate, it may be hard for your son to clear all of them on weekends. Since those questions are already the ones he doesn't know, he will need more time to understand the concept behind each. Are you able to solve the questions and explain to him? Alternatives are through your own tutor or KSP here. I find it hard to ask school teachers as they have so many kids to attend to as well. Sometimes, we email the school teachers over the questions, usually they will get back to us. 😄 Maybe you can email and ask your school teacher. If he/she realises your son has so many questions not sure, he/she may probably arrange to meet your son after school.

              Hi
I thought correction is handle by school , as in go thru during lesson ?
If not, should try to get answer sheet from school, so that you can go thru, it will be faster this way.
If your kid is using myPal book, i feel the \"Test\" and \"Homework\" books are good enough, no need go thru \"workbook\"

For me, I only try to go thru those CA's mistakes for the coming SA1.
Then target to try do a few past year paper and go thru the mistakes from there,
if really not much time, only target past year paper with questions that they are struggling with.
finally If got time, go thru school's homework (those with correction).

              🙂

Thank you mummies for the valuable replies.

These problem sums are school printed challanging questions from past psle papers and the teacher is going thru them in the class. But the problem here is my son says that it was fast to catch some of them. I am unable to teach them as well. I am not getting answers for them from school but keep getting reminders to finish the corrections 😞 Appt with the teachers did not worked due to supplementary lessons clashing. I have asked his weekend tutor to increase the tution frequency to twice one for weekday and other for weekend. If she is not comfortable, can someone know any nearby grp tutions in anchorvale sengkang area plz? Thank you !

The workload this year is a little heavier, but more than that my son is definitely feeling stress from school and teachers. To me its a balancing game - encourage him to work and try his best to not make those careless mistakes without making him feel I’m expecting perfection from him; give him space to do the work and make the mistakes on his own, bu keep an eye on things so that I know where he stands and can intervene if required before things spiral out of control; let him continue to do his sports and music and reading while trying to manage it so he can get enough sleep.

So we’ve made some compromises: he’s still continuing with music lessons but I’m ready to skip the exams this year. I sit down with him daily (as much as I’m able to be home) to hear his short / mid / long dated homework and help him plan the afternoon, then leave him to work on his own. And as regularly as possible, I institute compulsory time off where he’s ordered to go listen to soundhound and read a book or play chess or something not school related. Another 5.5 months before the exams are over and we can all vegetate for a few months. Can’t wait!
