Since 2011, Temasek had always had balloting for those living within 1km, except forThis site is amazing! All you wonderful people sharing so much experience!
It looks like temasek is the only primary school <2km to us and we are phase 2C. Is it risky? Will it be very over subscribed for dragon babies? :thankyou:
last year when birth rate was low.
For Dragon babies, it's very likely there will be balloting for < 1km again.
It would be best to consider other nearby schools since you might not even
have a chance to ballot. -
Hi anybody stay at pasir ris area?? I am newbie here and need some advice. My only girl is SPR dragon baby. There are 3 school within <1km
Pasir ris primary

Dear all,
Would like to get your opinion.
I am staying <1km to Canberra primary. My office is very near to Chongfu. <5min walking distance. Canberra is quite a popular school in Sembawang. Thinking if go to Canberra, we can get the helper to ferry the child and we might stand better chance since we stay <1km. But we heard many good comments about Chongfu and Chongfu is better in terms of PSLE results and the commitment to curriculum as they have longer time table. My boy is snake year so not as competitive. Last year phase 2B, Chongfu didn’t have ballot. The draw back is i need to arrange how he goes back home from Chongfuu. I can fetch him go. Can share with me your view? I am in such a big dillema now. -

If no, there isn't a dilemma to be concern about. You can only join in the ballot at Canberra.
If yes, pick Chongfu in Phase 2B and see how things go. Historically, Chongfu ballots in Phase 2B for SC > 2km so there's a possibility that it will ballot again in 2018 and you may miss out.
You don't really stand a better chance for Canberra because at best, you stand a chance like everyone else under 1km. Canberra will definitely ballot < 1km (same for Chongfu, which rules you out in Phase 2C). If you have secured a place in Chongfu in Phase 2B, then you can ignore Canberra since there isn't any reason to join the ballot queue to take the risk.
In your case, don't worry too much about PSLE results, commitment to curriculum, etc at the present moment. Hence, there isn't a dilemma at all. First figure out how best to get into the school and what are your alternatives if you ended up with 'none of the above' choices. -

Well said. I don't see the dilemma either as they belong to 2 different phases.
