2017 P1 Registration Exercise for 2018 In-Take
-
Just to check. I’ll be registering my son during phase 2c. During this period I can only choose one school or I can try a few school?
currently Pei Chun and Kheng Cheng are both in my mind. Both are within 1km. Based on past trending Kheng Cheng doesn’t require balloting for 1km. On the other hand, PCPS doesn’t usually has balloting for 1km but for last year registration only 1-2km needs balloting. -

You may not really have much of a choice. If you decide to go for ACS, the eventual school may not even be 1 of those 2, i.e. you have to have a backup for Phase 2Cs.
SJI is almost a guaranteed place in Phase 2B, while ACS is almost a guaranteed ballot for < 1km in Phase 2C. Assuming you go for ACS and missed out of the ballot, your backup for Phase 2Cs will come into play.
Generally, for peace of mind, go for SJI at Phase 2B. After which, you can sit back, relax and wait for a blood bath at ACS in Phase 2C. If, for some reason, the situation is safe for <1km at ACS, you can feel free to make the switch. However, do watch out for parents who will also think alike to join in at the last minute. Guarantee to set off panic attacks in the dying moments. Also note that once you decide to make the switch, you lose your existing seat in SJI. -
17. Can I register my child in more than one school?
No.
You can only register your child in one school at any particular phase. Our computer system will be able to detect duplicate registrations. You must withdraw your application in order to register at another school.
-
thanksfloppy. By the way the number of applications are updated live? Means I can see how many applied/seats.

You can only see such numbers at the schools. MOE's website is updated only once a day in the evening, after 7pm. -
Hi everyone,
I am planning to register my DS (nov2011) in SJI junior under Phase 2C for 2018 intake and my diatance is within 1-2km. What are the chances? Thanks in advance… -
Starryjan:
You have to be prepared to go for balloting. So far SJIJ is only safe for those <1km in Phase 2C. Prepare a backup school just in case you're balloted out. Or if the numbers are against you, you can go directly to that backup school without risking balloting. However, I understand that there are not many schools that are \"safe\" in Phase 2C around the area.Hi everyone,
