Thanks, guess I am eager to know before PTM and hoping parents in this thread could help, based on their experience.

My DS1 is at HCI and in HCI, they will indicate the percentile of your each individual subject mark in relation to the performance of the whole cohort taking the same subject and i thought NYGH is doing the same. Apparently not.

If there is no other indication given, its very difficult to know how your DD is performing in comparison to her peers by just looking at the marks. For example, in my DS course, a 60 marks in Bio might put you in the 80% (which means you are the top 20%) of the cohort, it depends very much how the paper is set. In normal circumstances, end-of-year exam is normally easier than CA/block test. Sorry, seem like unable to help you.

NYGH will only indicate the percentile of each individual subject mark vs the performance of the the cohort for mid-year and end of year.

I just confirmed with my DS, paisei  , only started in JC (rank plus percentile). I guess NYGH is better than HCI in this aspect, atleast you know where you stand among your peers.

My niece in HCI JC scored grade D for GP which makes her parent worried, until they see the percentile is 79%, so still quite ok. šŸ™‚

Does nanyang appointed a vendor to sell their softcopy past year papers?

Come across a seller, selling NYGH ip past year papers softcopy @ $2 each.
Covering wide range of subjects and years, including last year papers. Moreover, answer is available.
Is he authorized seller from NYGH? :?

                    Edited :
Advertisements are removed by the seller after my post.

I don't think any of the school papers sold in the market are authorised at all. It's really intellectual property of the teachers of the respective schools but no one has taken any legal action against these practices and there's a ready market for them, so the practice has gone from surreptitious and disorganised collection by the more resourceful students to organised packages sold out there in the open. One stark difference is, however, more of this was student-initiated in the past, but now parents are the main procurers.

Maybe the seller is NYGH parent or student? :scared:
You do know that past year papers are freely available to parents/students?
