I don't think there's anything unethical / ethical about adopting a religion because of school.I hope you don't take Floppy's candour too seriously. Do not adopt a religion for the sake of schools... very unethical in the eyes of God.
Some people adopt a religion because of salvation, others because of redemption, some because of afterlife or their next life (or at least a better afterlife or next life), a few because of peer influence / pressure, etc. Who is to judge that one reason for adopting a religion is more ethical than the other. -
So you were serious about telling her to adopt a religion for 2B priority? Okie.... thought it was tongue in cheek.
There are other ways to get 2B priority - PV or grassroots. The buy/rent property route can also be considered.
No debate on ethics necessary. Yes agree, people get into religions for different reasons.

If you're referring to CHIJ OLN, you can still have a chance in Phase 2C as it's not as popular as some other CHIJ schools. If you want to increase your chance, you can move in within 1km. Otherwise, you can still stay where you are, but prepare a backup school just in case you don't get in.
By CHIJ Hougang, I assume you mean CHIJ OLN (as there's no CHIJ Hougang).Jochin:
...
My daughter is born in 2013 and we're staying in Punggol. My hb want her to be in CHIJ Hougang but talk only no action. Zzzz....
What do we do in order to get my daughter in there?
...
What do you do?
You may:
1. Consider shifting house to within 1km of the school; or
2. Adopt a religion.
To be 100% bao jiak, you can do both.
If you really want to become Catholic just to get into Phase 2B, it's entirely up to you. I can't comment on that. -

Hi Galaxyraider, sorry been away from the forum. Thanks for your reply. Yes, I did some research on the historical results and gathered that my chances for Fairfield is not good.... I saw that even if I am within 1km, there is also balloting at phase 2B if I am not wrong...
If you're >2km away from Fairfield, your chance is not good.Mummytang:
Hi everyone! Checking in here. #1 born in 2013.
Is PV application already started this year?? *Gasp* I thought I have one more year to go.
I am staying within 1km of Nanhua primary and Qifa Primary.
Initially, I plan to register at NH but looking at the statistics it looks very competitive and I am also afraid of the requirement to do higher Chinese in NH. Can anyone share with me what are the advantages of doing higher Chinese?
Any feedback on Qifa primary?
Alternatively, I am thinking of applying for PV at Fairfield Methodist but I am >2km away, what are the chances?
Many thanks for your advices!

Can anyone share with me how to find out whether there is a link to check on the distance (home and school)? If within 1km is under which phrase? Thank you -

Distance does not determine the Phase. Suggest you head to MOE website to read up on the phases. -
