      Essential:
Just to share - went MGS last Saturday for the open house for Dance . MGS will only pick 5 girls for DSA Dance. It's not easy to be the lucky one. the gals will have to write a personal statement and one or two testimonials from teachers ..

5 is generous already. At another girl school, just 1 was selected.

        Essential:
It's about $$$. $ makes wonder . If kids have passion parents no $ how ? I will not spend my $$ to DSA . Use $ for tuition better .

Honestly I rather put the money in my own pocket to fund their tertiary education.

Ditto. Why bother with tuition, training etc. Just send them off to some 3rd rated overseas university also can. For all you know, they will be same same alumni as some of our foreign talent.

Didn’t you watch TV? Recently in a interview with Minister J Teo, she said talent is inborn, thus shouldn’t need money to groom.

How can that be? Got people allegedly spent $15K on a dance portfolio for DSA!

Btw got rumors that there will be no more acad DSA (math, Sci, Lang) starting from next yr. What will be left are those non-acad DSA which obviously children of poor parents like mine will be at a big disadvantage!!

What to do? When ministers do not believe that all these extra lessons need money.

Am I right to say no more DSA academic but now known as \"special talent\" (Maths,Sc, Lang)?

Hearsay from whatsapp parents chatgroup that it was announced during an open house last Saturday. Next year no more academic dsa. Not sure how reliable is the source but if true, then it will be back to t score the next few years?

When are they removing t score by the way?

Remove t-score wef 2021 (kids born in 2009), replaced by new AL scheme system : currently 2017 P2 students impacted.

Last 4 psle batches, to experience T-score, are :-

                        Psle 2017 (born 2005),
                        Psle 2018 (born 2006),
                        Psle 2019 (born 2007),
                        Psle 2020 (born 2008).

Under new AL scheme, for academic subjects (Eng, maths, science) :
Whether your AL grade show up a 1 or an 8, for each of the 4 subjects -
The results speak for Itself : indicate clearly whether u or not, u have talent in that specific subject.
