      Hi,

I am new to this forum. I would like to ask some advice on Yu Neng and Gongshang primary sch. As for YU Neng, i am eligible for 2A1 cos i am the alumni. for Gongshang I need to undergo 2C as stay <1km. Thinking of the distance, i would prefer to enroll in Gongshang but i scared i cant get in.

Hope to hear some advice. :thankyou:
I am in the same situation as you. School that I am eligible for phase 2A is not within walking distance. But, the schools that are within walking distance requires balloting. I will not take the risk and will go ahead to enrol my girl at phase 2A.

Try not to use a ruler to measure the distance. You should refer to the official source.

In any case, if you are > 1km from Canberra, you won't start a chance as balloting will occur for < 1km.

DS is in Fairfield Pri. Got in thru balloting after I did PV a few years ago. Was all full of wow and awe for the school but in the recent months, been very disappointed with the teachers and a few other incidents. Wonder if it's because the P has changed and therefore changes in the way things are carried out in school.

Should I register my 2011 gal for MGS? I'm alumni, so will definitely get in.
Only thing stopping me is logistics. 4 bus stops to Fairfield, 8 bus stops to MGS. So it's still ok..

Fairfield has already sent out the phase 1 registration form and I need to submit by TOMORROW!

Hi I am alumni to Fairfield and thinking of sending my girl there .. May I know how is the culture and teachers there now?

                Hi all

We are SC and thinking of registrating SAJ under phrase 2B . We have been with AnglicAn church for more than 10 years . But we stay more than 2 km . What is the Chances like for us to get in ? Thanks
Based on recent balloting history, there is usually balloting for SC > 2km for phase 2B. The exception was 2015 where all SC applicants got in for that phase.

                    Hi all KS parents

First timer here due to register my DD for P1. We stay within 1km of Rosyth & Xin Min primary. Been thinking and looking at the stats. Should we drop Rosyth and go straight for XM as we’re 2C for both schools. Surely will have balloting for SC within 1km for both schools anyway. Or we should just stick with Rosyth since it doesn’t really matter as no matter wat will have balloting.

Pennies for your thought. Really appreciate all advise.
                    Thank you very much.

Err... I don't think it's quite the same. You have to be prepared for crazy balloting for Rosyth (about 200 to 400% over the limit) while Xinmin is still reasonable (typically less than 150%). From a statistical point of view, your odds are probably better with Xinmin.

That said, if you are comfortable with the choice of P2CS schools, go ahead and join in the balloting fun for Rosyth.

floppy is right. Balloting in Xinmin is not the same as Rosyth. You have a better chance in Xinmin as typically the number of applicants are only about 5-10% more than the number of vacancies. And don't forget that last year's balloting was only for SPRs.

The chance to get a seat in Rosyth is less than 30% because typically there are at least 3 times more applicants compared to available seats.

In any case, it's better for you to prepare a backup school for Phase 2CS just in case you get balloted out.
