Application to contribute as a PV in SHPS is now open to parents of children born in the year 2013, who are due for registration in July 2019. Registration closes on 15 August 2017. Parents who are accepted as PVs by the School will be required to start contributing their voluntary hours at least one-and-a-half years before the start of the Primary One Registration Exercise that will be held in the year of registration for their children.

                      Hi morning,

I’m new here. My girl will be in P1 at St Hilda’s Primary School next year. Would like to check any good recommendation of the student care centre nearby SHPS.

                      Many thanks.

                      Regards
                      Crystal

Thong Kheng would be the nearest student care to St Hilda’s. I have sent my gal there when she was in p1, 6 yrs ago. The teachers are generally caring and they do quite a good job in helping the kids with school homework and spelling/tingxie etc.

however, my daughter disliked the regimental lifestyle of student care centres. Unlike childcare, which is more lovey dovey, the student care basically provides a place for the kids to come back to, bathe, have lunch and do homework. if no homework, they will sit at the table, do assessment books or reading etc. I think it is the same for most student care centres.

The other student care near st hilda’s is kampung senang. They create opportunities for the children to mingle with the seniors in their senior activity centre next door. They serve only vegetarian food.
