For Phase 2 C, this year's result will be available by Wed, 2 August. Does that mean, if there is balloting for phase 2C for ACS Junior, the balloting will take place in the morning of 2 August?
Must the parent(s) be present during balloting? If not, how will the result of balloting be announced (for those parents not present during balloting) ?
:thankyou: -

I think balloting would be done on 2 August morning. Parents need not be present as they would be notified by post. Of course most parents would be present so that they could know the outcome on the day itself and plan the next course of action accordingly. For Phase 2 C, this year's result will be available by Wed, 2 August. I have a special needs child, wondering if Primary or Junior will be better?
I’ve heard Primary is really good with support for kids with special needs but I’m worried about the academic part.
Junior seems to be not as competitive? I just want my Son to complete his primary school with fairly reasonable results, not expecting the sky or something.
Opinions would be welcomed! Thanks! -

The school is very supportive of special needs, in fact there are several boys per cohort with ADHD and also learning difficulties eg. Dyslexia. During the Orientation/Admin Day, when filling up the forms, you can provide more details about your child & they will try to accommodate his needs. The teachers take the effort to understand each child. I see quite a few allied educators/shadow teachers accompanying some special needs boys in school too.
And in terms of academic stress, I would say there's close to zero. My boy is quite an average boy, definitely not brilliant at studying or can pay much attention type, slightly more active than usual & hates sitting down to write. The curriculum (especially for Chinese) is slightly easier than the fixed MOE syllabus. There are mini-tests (and of course spelling & tingxie) but the results really do not matter at P1 level, so your boy will hopefully have an easier transition.
And...this could be a minor point for your boy, but the on-site playground (and PE three times a week!) is a huge attraction for my active boy. It helps to drain his energy a little bit between lessons. The brother school does not have these.
Feel free to PM me if you have any more qns about Junior

hello experts!
can i just ask for advice on the following scenario:
we are residing with 1km from ACSP and within 1-2km from ACSJ. my husband is methodist so we should be entering under phase 2B for the p1 registration. my son is also SC.
on the day of 2B registration, will it make sense if my husband queues at ACSP while i queue at ACSJ. i am just thinking given the stats for 2016, it seems like we might run into a situation whereby balloting is required in ACSP under 2B within 1km for SC.
any advice will be very appreciated! thanks! -

Yes, it's a valid strategy. It means you'll register on the last day of Phase 2B registration period. Please note that in the last 2 years, ACSP escaped balloting because a lot of applicants are similar to you. At the end of the day, they decided not to ballot in ACSP and register in ASCJ instead.hello experts!

I was there 2 years ago to monitor the situation in Phase 2B. By the time I left ACSP at around 4pm, they were about to go into balloting for those within 1km as there was still 1 extra SC applicant, but in the end 1 of them decided to pull out and go to ACSJ and the rests of the parents were safe.
Please note that either you or your husband will have to rush to the preferred school as they need both your original NRICs to register. Also original BC and the letter from the church. I can't remember whether they need your church membership certificate or not. I think you should just bring it along. -
I would like to add on to galaxy Raiders’ post above. Last year the situation happened at phase 2B where:
There was 1 extra SC applicant living within 1km at ACSP, nobody pulled out. So they all went into balloting. Be prepared for that possibility in your year. -
apologies! theres a mistake in my initial post.
i meant to say that we are residing within 1km from ACSP and within 1-2km from ACSJ. therefore, will it makes sense if my husband stations himself at ACSP and i will be at ACSJ?
thanks!
