thanks for recommending! After my p1 boy read charlotte's web by E B white, he has been asking for other books by same author, but its hard to get it from the library, unless i reserve it.

i also enjoy reading children/teenager books esp those classics eg heidi, little women and etc. I dont seem to appreciate those science fictions.


Last week ,i was reading wuthering heights and p1 son saw it, told me the author is emily bronte, i wasnt surprised since he knows authors' names are always on the book. Then, he continue, \"emily bronte also have a sister named charlotte bronte.\" i was :shock: He was not expose to any of my classic titles since its all hidden in boxes. After that he rattle on,\"theres also this writer call william shakespear from long time ago, did you also read his books?\" Im curious,where did he get these names from. He later revealed it was through his children encyclopedia that he came across the names as well as the century they were from.

Im glad i taught him to read since he was 2yo n it really gives him the key to unlock world beyond him. Really...the wonder of books.

recently I read together with my DS for Shel Silverstein's the Giving Tree, a very short story carrying weighty message. As an adult reader, I love it very much.

DS asked me a lot of questions and we had an very interesting discussion about life and relationships. this simple story will stimulate your emotion and discussion....

Yeah, i am attempted to read the Giving Tree oso leh. Did u buy or borrow from the library. If u have bought it, where did u get a good bargain? Is this story more for boys or girls or mixture

the above two books are available in library. Actually, my DS borrowed The Giving Tree from his school library.
It is about the relationship between a tree and a boy. the tree loves the boy so much that it is willing to let the boy cut down its trunk and make a boat to sail away…
there is a controversy on whether the tree’s unconditional love can make the boy happy…
personally feel the simple story depict complexity of life and relationships…

suitable for both boys and girls ? definitely, super simple story, can be finished within 10 mins…
suitalbe for adults as well: mind-provoking…

a book worth re-reading and purchase…
