Hi, I’m new to this forum.

My wife is in dilemma between Maha Bodhi vs Chong Zheng.
Both under Phase 2B but Maha Bodhi is > 2km.
First choice will be Maha Bodhi.
Any advice on what is the chances of getting into Maha Bodhi under Phase 2B but more than 2km away from the school?
In case balloted out from Maha Bodhi, what will be the chance of getting into Chong Zheng under Phase 2C?
My plan is try out Maha Bodhi Phase 2B followed by Chong Zheng as back up. Will this work?
Appreciate any advice. Thank you.

Unless u stay within 1km of Chongzheng, you have little to no chance of even getting to ballot in Phase 2C for that school. There is some risk of oversubscription for Maha Bodhi in Phase 2B. Monitor the situation in Maha Bodhi in Phase 2B and decide in the afternoon of the last day.

Hi parents..

I have checked the School Vacancies by Phases's page by MOE and i just realised that the allocated vacancy that initially i thought for Phase 2C, turns out its allocated for both Phase 2B and 2C.
Sighed.. I may misunderstand the seat allocation earlier, but now with the list from MOE i become more worried.. that means it will be more challenging to put my kid in RMPS. As i can only register my kid under Phase 2C.. This is our first time to register for primary one.. Any suggestion between Zhangde or Gan Eng Seng for our second choice?

When you said edge, did you use one map to determine if PE primary is within 1km? I assume your status as SC. Going by trend, PE primary should be a balloting within 1km. While jurong look good for now within 1km.

Need advice on Phase 2A1 as am first time going through this baptism of fire :yikes:


Will be registering my gal under Phase 2A1 and was informed by alumni office that the time of registration (i.e. morning or afternoon) does not matter in terms of priority. My questions are:-

1) What will be the considerations if balloting is required Eg. SC, distance from school or really all put in ballot box?
2) How will parents be informed if a ballot is required at the end of the day on 5 Jul?
3) How will parents be informed of the results on 7 Jul?

Really grateful if parents with past experience can advise :rahrah:

Phase 1 day 1 number is higher than last year but still lower than 2015. Need day 2 to close to have a slightly better picture.

For each phase, if the total applicant number is more than the available slots, then the ballot will happen, this is most impt data you first i think. If oversubscribe, SC will first get (meaning getting the total number of SC applied is important), if that is not enough then distance play a part (split of the applicants with distance). Unless you have 2 school of choice in 2A1, it is unlikely anyone will withdraw at this time. Later phases will be your backup option but i think its best to end the registration process at 2A1 and prepare for school!

Actually my considerations go beyond the Phases (and am still procrastinating at this 11th hour). The chances of getting my gal into Ai Tong through Phase 2A1 is high. However, it is very far from home. So I am still adopting a wait and see attitude in case I need to make a \"life-changing\" decision in Phase 2C. But from the looks of it, I also don't dare to play play in Phase 2C - the schools of my choice typically need balloting even for those living within 1km.
